Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's Back to the Datacenter I Go!

Printer-friendly version

Hi everyone, Just a quick note.

Amy (My Fiance), Liam (Our Son) and I are headed up to Bridgewater, NJ today so that I can rack more equipment and get two other servers that were left un-configured, online.

I WILL be making changes to the network cabling, so things will go Up and Down a few times, lasting anywhere from 30 secs, to 30 mins or more if I run into trouble.

I am always generally available on my cell for those that know where to call, but I'm not planning on answering a lot of calls in a noisy datacenter. Plus, since I'm there, right in front of the hardware, if the site is offline, chances are I know about it :)

Funny How

Noisy all of those little electronic feet can be racing around at the speed of light. I had to rack up equipment at a Bell Telephone Exchange in Washington DC some years back and nearly went deaf waiting for the traffic to slow down enough to pull one Bank of the old rotary switches off line for the refit.

I understand that the ISS crew had problems sleeping due to all the fans and noise the equipment made. So It is easy to understand how you can not hear your phone. Thanks for all your hard work keeping this life line up and operating for us put here in the world.

Your our virtual Warrior Queen in beautiful armor fighting against the dragon of entropy. I send a toast to you of the finest coffee Starbucks Roasts' and we love you.

Salute

Michele
