Flighty Summer

Flighty Summer

She cared not how I looked, if I needed to shave or not. Little did she care how long my hair was or if it was combed, nor what I wore. She drew a line at what type of shoes, hard soled or spiked were verboten, however trainers or deck shoes were ok. Dressing up was fine but jeans and shorts were more practical for our dates.

Listing a Story in more than one Book, a work around?

About a month ago, I had asked if there was a way to list a story in more than one place, perhaps some feature in outline. Sad to say the answer was no, but like a cat with a new ball I just can't let the idea go and I would like to suggest something a bit different.

a MAU-MAU-MAU mau mau ma mau ** no not that song!!

As I performed my normal look over at Fictionmania for what stories and chapters were new today I noted that Danielle J and/or Elrod W posted MAU - Rules and Author's Notes in which they give the backstory, the rules, and some FAQs about the Morphic Adaptation Units, Mark V, for the MAU universe, along with some final notes about 'reserved' characters.

Madam Verde’s Mystic Costumes

I found an interesting story universe idea posted at The AR Archive, titled Madam Verde’s Mystic Costumes. Within the story’s description is permission by the author, Steven, to use this story idea as long as it retains the story line outlined in the Prologue of Madam Verde’s Mystic Costumes: Daughter's Choice, which he created on October 25th, 2009.

Honeymoon Inn Universe of Kyrie Hobson

In October of 2008, Kyrie Hobson wrote Honeymoon Inn at Fictionmania. In October of 2011 Kyrie followed up with Honeymoon Inn: The Senator's Wife, also at Fictionmania.

In December of 2011 Kyrie released Honeymoon Inn Factsheet, a factsheet/bible for authors who wish to write stories based in the Honeymoon Inn universe.

LDS, not LSD...

In a comment titled "Dear John" on Hope Eternal Reigns' "Angharad has finally attained the coveted MD", Abigail Drew wrote about what a "Dear John" meant to a young Mormon on missionary. Besides pointing out that "Dear John" is a well known introduction on letters to serviceman, I had to go on with ....

I so wish I could use this in a story.

While researching ideas for a story I am working on I came upon this youtube presentation, Oh my heart wishes I had the ability to copy parts of this to put together a video, sadly I have not an artistic bone in the body and I am fairly computer illiterate.

For Your Consideration, in a time and place ...

The following came to me as I pondered the life of a person who had been modified to control aircraft or spacecraft as in the “Skin Horse” series seen at the end of the blog section.

As is my late afternoon habit I tuned into the local, talk radio station, yes that one that in the low 600 kilohertz region of the dial.

My Report, How I Spent my Summer

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

My first day at Park Side Elementary School, my teacher, Ms Midler has given us our homework assignment for the weekend, an essay or short story, truth or fiction, on what we did this summer.

I don’t think she will believe this one but she did say it could be truth or fiction.

Question

What is the difference between an editor and a proof reader? How does an editor help, and to what degree do they influence story development? At some time in the past I had noticed a list of potential editors at Story Site, is there such a list here? and other questions I have not thought of yet...

Urban Asalt Vehicle

Wisconsin has done it. In the past they needed Urban Asalt Vehicles in Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. Now, in the historic but contentious times of this week, the major urban areas in Wisconsin had to employ fleets of Urban Asalt Vehicles. We can all wish that these will not be needed again.
