Drustina returns to find Cws in turmoil after the Vikings have been destroyed but Gisela stupidly escaped Drustina's protection only to be abused by the Saxon villagers after being re-captured. Drustina finally gets to Winchester to warn the Saxon king but she finds the king pre-occupied with religious matters and the Saxons woefully unprepared. The Angry Mermaid 56 I would first suggest that any readers read back to Chapter 55 just to pick up any loose threads and recollect the gist of this saga. basically, for any newcomers, The Angry mermaid is a story that describe's Drustina's many adventures as she tries to make her way home and recover her homelands from the Viking Pirates who stole it from her when she was only fourteen and lucky to escape with her/his life. We pick up the story where Drustina has visited Brendigan to use her testimony to ensure the succession to the throne of Dame-mark and thus ensure a lawful peace amongst the Baltic and Scandinavian countries. Wheels and wings 30. Just a brief explanation to say I'm rather pre-occupied with nursing my father-in-law who is dying aged 93. I attend this guy some 16 to 18 hours per day because I am so fond of the man. When I married his daughter, he became my surrogate father and I often turned to him for advice with emotional stuff and rearing our children. He is a wonderful man and I've been attending him since just before Christmas as he makes the long goodbye. This chapter of Mare's Tales has been added here from Fictionmania. Way back in 2003 I was still somewhat at odds with my gender identity and gender preference. (Truth to tell I was all over the place and things were in a crazy situation for me.) That confusion and uncertainty is illustrated by the bizarre fantasies I dreamt up. I simply didn't know if I was a boy or a girl - or both. In truth I'm still not sure where I am with gender.
