Is Crystal's Storysite dead for good? It's listed as also hosted by BCTS and the link is dead. When I click on the link, I get, "Server not found," the same as my link. It's been that way for some time now. Or is it that the site has been relocated and I just don't have the right link?

The link in the "Hosted by Us" tab at the top of the page works for me: http://www.storysite.org/homepage.html

What you typed into the comment had a , not a . so might want to check that again.

One of the issues with SS is that we don't control the domain, only host it, and host DNS on our DNS servers, but there are OTHER dns servers listed that we can't update that no longer respond for SS so sometimes you get Bad DNS replies.

Still unable to resolve

using the correct domain. However, after changing dns setting to opendns and then trying google's public dns, it works. Maybe the dns pool at mediacom is not working correctly or has some kind of parental controls turned on

Crystal's site

The site works for me also (Seamonkey browser (Mozilla) for what it is worth).
As for geekydee's ping, she has a comma instead of a period in storysite.org.
I did have a problem a few years back with Stardust, where I was getting a not found error, and had to change name servers. I think I used Google's name server (8.8.8.8 I think) and it resolved it . I am not sure if the offending one was the default one, or my ISP's name server.

No problem

I had no problem connecting to the site using firefox. It may be a DNS issue.

DNS Issue?

Have you considered enemy action?

It may be that you are kept out by a porn filter somewhere along the way.

Check what your ISP is doing to your connection. Do you have a 'family' filter set, perhaps by default?

I can't connect on my laptop,

I can't connect on my laptop, desktop, or tablet. I've tried on multiple connections through more than one provider.

Multiple browers

Patricia Marie Allen's picture

I have four browsers on my computer. My favored is Firefox; I also have SeaMonkey, Internet Explorer and Chrome. All with the same result when I try to go to Storysite.

I rarely use the web capability on my Nook, however, in the interest of research, I tried calling up BCTS on it and used the link there to access Storysite and it came up. So I guess that it must be a DNS issue, but I don't know how to get around it.

Don't Have SeaMonkey...

…but just got into StorySite from here on all three of the others. (2007 Dell PC using Windows Vista.)

On the other hand, it's still not accepting blog comments from me from there. Had to go back to my MacBook/Safari to post this.
