Strange science fact of the day:

There is a kind of fungi that attacks male crabs, effectively feminizes them by causing them to lose their fighting claws and create a womb-like structure that the fungi can then use to create more of itself.

There's probably a story for Big closet in there somewhere ...

Yes I think there is a story here it just needs a warm protected space to grow and bare fruit.

sacrallina carcini - apparently a form of barnacle, doesn't sound too pleasant if it does the same to a human! and you have the invading barnacle attached to whatever site takes its fancy and then it grows a network of tendrils to sap nutrients out of you!
