Has anyone else actually listened to the lyrics for Disney's 'Let it go' and thought that it would make a great TG anthem?

As a silly competition idea does anyone have any other suggestions for an off the wall TG anthem ( e.g. Rodney Atkins "If you're goin' through Hell")?

P.S. First place will automatically go to Andrea as she does this all the time! :)

Jesse's Girl.

Jesse's Girl.

I mean, just change _one_ word. 'had' to 'was'.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

She's The One

I thought about this the other day when Robbie Williams' song played on the radio:

I was her
She was me
We were one
We were free
If there's somebody
Calling me on
She's the one

I was her / She was me / We were one - that trio of lyrics alone should be enough to get you thinking along lines other than those Robbie intended :)

And with a bit of imagination (female persona talking to male persona rather than ex-girlfriend to former lover), you could even twist I Will Survive to suit.

A few years ago, there was a "Musical Motif Challenge" - build a story (any length) around a song / musical motif. Perhaps we could resurrect it? :)

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Are true.

Is it that we think too hard? Or that creative people understand?

Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'be - From Chapter 182

"Don't bandy words with me, young lady. In my day, children knew better than to cheek their elders."

"Yes, fings ain't wot they used t'be, are they, Denise?"

"Is that a cue for a song, Susie?"

"The way to Eric's USB-port may be through his ears, Denise. Let's serenade him with a merry melody."

"Hey, do us a favour!" we whooped.

"They've changed our local Palais into a bowling alley, now
Fings ain't wot they used t'be."

Mr Clapham hugged his laptop ever closer. "You're wasting you're breath on low-brow sing-a-longs - I'm a Gilbert and Sullivan man."

"Then you're in for a treat," Susie smiled. "Just wait until you've heard the Dinky Doos' alternative, high-brow lyrics. Are you ready Denise?"

"Take it away, Susie."

"There's girls struttin' in leather trousers, and
Boys fillin' out see-through blouses, wow
Fings ain't wot they used t'be."

"Sit still - and behave yourselves."

"Get those knees up and join in," Susie urged.

"Once we danced from twelve to three.
We've got news for Eric C,
Fings ain't wot they used t'be."

"Will you please shut up!"

"Hang on - the best is yet to come. Original, risque lyrics, if you please, Denise."

"There's toffs wiv toffee noses, and
Poofs in coffee houses, and
Fings ain't wot they used t'be."

"That's quite enough. Stop right there," Mr Clapham ordered.

"Onward and downward, Denise."

"Once in golden days of yore,
Ponces killed a lazy ..."

Wish I could sing it well

I am roughly a contralto but am not in Idina Merzel's class to say the least. Oh well.

Strangely I can just about manage 'part of your world', one the the classics now and forget about 'reflection' as I have the wrong voice for it.

But yes, 'let it go' is the millennium generation's battle song I think.

Sound Tracks of Our Lives

I find I must take an entirely different approach than my Anglo-Irish co-conspirator when it comes to music. There is, in my opinion, no one song that can encapsulate the journey many of us take as we venture forth on this most unusual, but often necessary, adventure. Rather, music is the sound track of my life. I know, it is a cliché, but one that is true.

The songs that have always been important to me are quite an eclectic collection. Some reflect the friendships that have been so important to me, such as ‘For Good.’ Others reflect the era when I began my journey, for society in the 1980’s were not as accommodating to folks like us as it is now. Hence the inclusion of ‘Danger Zone.’

Any who, that's my story and I'm sticking' to it.

So here are the tops hits that have been, and remain to this day, the sound tracks of my life.

Both Sides now

I think Joni Mitchell managed to cover this more than a few years ago. Here's part of the lyrics

Oh but now old friends they're acting strange,
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost, but something's gained
In living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

Thanks for the idea Persephone
Love to all

Never mind.

I see that Joni wrote it, but Judy's version is what is popular.
