I had a strange moment at work.

Out of the blue, I had this ... urge to make my walk more feminine. So I found myself swaying my hips like a catwalk model for a while.

Then later in the shift, I panicked about having done this. Somehow I felt like I had taken away my ability to blend into the background by walking like that.

Fortunately, by the end of the shift, I was mostly okay.

Make of this what you will ...

Don't worry about it.

People, like animals, are only partly aware of the sensory cues their minds take in around them. Most of these sensory cues go into the subconscious. And your subconscious was likely telling you that the situation was alright to sway your hips and walk in a more feminine way.

Don't worry about it. And enjoy the moment.

Er, oops..

.. I did that once; no idea why and it probably looked a little absurd on me. Been a bit self conscious of my gait ever since. Fortunately I have not seen how I walk from behind, but was told by an older kid at school (I was aged about 9) " 'Ere, you wiggle yer bum when yer walk!" I sidled cautiously away from him, but never gave it another thought afterwards. If it is ever commented on, I have a prepared answer of "dodgy conformation and suspect hip joints, I probably shouldn't be bred from".

"Reach for the sun."
