Expressing ourselves

Perhaps now it is simply less dangerous to express who we are? Rigid gender roles are so unnecessary in the 21st century. In retrospect it is now clear to me that my GID was not at all about wanting to be a woman, but simply about wishing to be less rigidly "manly".

I'd still have had the castration, and perhaps even don HRT, but surgery, what a crock. I would allow myself to decorate my apartment prettily, and all that too.

TERFs in huge numbers--when is the backlash coming? In reply to the 'adult' comment, the mean age of transition in the UK, especially for MtFs, is mid-40s. The waiting list is still dreadful, even before the increase in referrals. It took me three years before I got to my first meeting.

25/6 when I went the first time to CCH and saw John Randall - pompous old git - eventually transitioned at 33 and had to wait 5 years for surgery having had notice of surgery, CCH had a financial meltdown and my op was cancelled. They then messed me about for four years and I eventually got my health authority to fund me seeing Mike Royle at Hove in 1991. In those days I think there were three gender clinics, CCH, Newcastle and Leeds.

What was the increase in '96-'06? Are we at the initial near-exponential stage of a logistic curve?
