I have been engrossed on my Kindle with Karin Bishop's EPIC two-novel tale and wish to highly recommend the story to others. Karin's books are not expensive but I do hope purchasers will use the BC link to Amazon to help with the costs of keeping BigCloset running.

Agreed

I reread Port of Departure while waiting for the sequel, and on vacation I read both books in sequence twice. I've found something new each time. I am not sure whether to complement the writing or the research more highly, as both are exemplary. (I am reminded of Jack London.)

One thing that sets these books apart is that the dialogue is done in a way that captures non verbal communication. It is done skillfully so as not to disrupt the narrative. The characters are well developed, even the non-sympathetic ones; what sets the sympathetic ones apart is that (just as in life) they are willing to learn. Finally, Ms. Bishop's use of music is an education itself. I have hours of things to listen to in new ways in the car.

Buy these. Read them. You will not regret it at all. (And please post a review on Amazon if able.)

Unexpected depths to enjoy

While building myself a playlist of music referenced in Departure, I'm starting to realize that the characters in the novel also tie in with the characters of the Broadway shows of the musical references. I'm now curious what other things I have completely missed!
