You ever get the feeling something is wrong, but you can't quite pin down what it is?

That's how I feel today.

Checklists?

Sara Selvig's picture

I presume you ran your Start-the-day checklist, your After-Lunch checklist, etc, and all items checked "GREEN". What to do? Go with the day with a positive attitude. If something turns up that your checklists missed, amend them accordingly.

The best you can do is the best you can do. Don't let fear interfere with that.

Hugs? Here's one more for the road!

Between the wrinkles, the orthopedic shoes, and nine decades of gravity, it is really hard to be alluring. My icon, you ask? It is the last picture I allowed to escape the camera ... back before most BC authors were born.

ESP is playing up... It happens...

It could be something that will happen to you, or something that will happen to big group of people.
According to my dreams (if you believe in such things) there will be some kind of catastrophic failure with some winged spacecraft in the next couple of weeks. Also somwhere about that time there will be airplane crash of big passenger jet like B747 (it was that one in my dream) or A380. Possibly connected with or caused by spacecraft failure as in my dream I watched through the airplane window as spececraft fell to ground and then airplane I was in changed pitch of engine noise and crashed... Yes, I have vivid dreams in full color with full immersion effect :-) Even had some "Inception" style dreams with dream within dream within dream - I've been to 3Rd level couple of times :-) And yes, Inception shows time effects more or less correctly, as 8 hours sleep gives you about a week time on the second level. :-)
Also there is another kind that happen to me, which could be used for Inception 2. In those dreams I about half conscious that I am dreaming, I hear and register sounds and light levels changes from the real world, but at the same time I am a part of the dream, but I have about 90% control over what happens there. There are some random inputs, but it is like playing Diablo for the 3Rd time - levels are different, monsters are different, but you can domwhatever you want. :-)

Umm...Manic

Are their any winged spacecraft going into orbit at present? Or do you know of secret Russian, Chinese, etc. test spacecraft?

The only winged spacecraft I know about are the US space shuttles and maybe the unmanned, smaller sized test vehicles to help design the space shuttle (project dyna-soar, I think), but I don't know if those went into orbit or just were carried by some large plane, like the B-52 or a 747 and rocketed to 250,000 feet or so and coasted back to earth unpowered, like the X-15.

Anyway, the space shuttles are all retired.

Seriously, if you know of any new/secret winged spacecraft, It would be really great if you gave me links for more information! I started in the department of aeronautics and astronautics at MIT, where I went '67 to '71. I'm still sort of into planes and spacecraft. I just read a cool story, BBC, I think, about the MiG 25; how the US thought it was a super plane, but it actually had lots of problems and wasn't a big threat. I think it said the problems were mostly corrected in the MiG 29, which is used around the world by Russia, its allies, etc.

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

Space Plane

Maybe the X-37, a small reusable space plane operated by the USAF.

{I leave a trail of Kudos as I browse the site. Be careful where you step!}

SpaceShipTwo? As one of the possible examples...

And in my dream there was no info on if it was manned or not. Just that it crashed...
About MiG 25... It had its problems, but it caused SR-71 program to be shut down as MiG was faster (in some conditions), used ordinary jet fuel, had no need for the special starter, so could use any airfield, could carry air to air and air to ground weapons even in "spy plane" version... And was capable of firing those at the top speed... And was about 10 times cheaper to build and operate... Even frontline bomber version was capable of intercepting and shooting down the Blackbird. Good thing it never came to proving that capability in the actual combat.
Only reason it is not holding world speed record for the airplanes is that it could not stay at the same altitude for the distance used to measure speed. (one of the reasons is rumored to be that there were no reliable enough transistors produced in the USSR, so it's flight computer used vacuum tubes.)
So, while technologically it was almost a generation below SR-71, as a military aircraft it was almost a generation above... (And yes, Americans produced and used an almost a copy of the MiG-25 for the number of years. It never reached MiG parameters, for some reason, but used loads of the ideas).
Another funny thing that only country producing titanium in necessary quantities for production of the SR-71 was... USSR. ;-) And MiG 25 had steel body. And yes, MiG 25 used some of the ideas used in American Vigilante. But... While only 156 vigilantes were ever made, that aircraft manages to still hold the record as US NAVY airplane with biggest number of accidents... While more than 1000 MiG 25s were produced and were regarded as quite reliable.
