I was really hoping to never miss a day of Venus Cursed!, but that's out the window now, isn't it? Sorry about yesterday, things didn't go quite the way I expected. I went to a flea market with some relatives and didn't get home until four or five, which was as I planned. Not unexpectedly, I wasn't able to get much writing done on the way over and back, either. But I'd planned on spending most of the rest of the day writing. But things kept cropping up to interrupt my plans until eight or nine, and by then I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open! I kept trying anyway, but finally admitted defeat around midnight.

So I figured I'd spend today making up for it, but more stuff cropped up to delay things until four or five. I was finally able to start working on it again, but I had to use my laptop because my keyboard for my desktop died! Even so it was extremely slow going until I finally got smart and moved my laptop back to my bedroom to get away from all the distractions (like the TV, that thing just sucks me in, even if I don't like what's on). So now I've finally finished, and posted, chapter 68 and will be getting some more done tonight. Tomorrow I'll get a new keyboard and hopefully build my buffer back up a little, I hope!

It's ironic, that writing and interacting with people here has helped me with my depression issues, but when I miss updates or just have trouble getting anything written I get to feeling useless because of that. Can't win for losing, huh?

Anyway, sorry for the delay, and I'll try not to let it happen again. On the plus side, I've figured out what to do with the next chapter of Watcher...

Do not worry,

You are NOT useless, not in the least!

Alas, poor keyboard.

And do not worry about having a little delay every now and then. You are not obliged to single-handedly entertain us, we can cope... Barely ^_~

New idea for Watcher? Be vewy, vewy afwaid...

Thanks Faraway! I suppose the hundreds of other stories here can take up the slack... ;)

Slacker?

Hardly! You do deserve some personal time, I envy you the chance to got to that flea market, lucky dog. Rest and recoup, and we'll all reap the benefits.

I'm just glad ...

... that you didn't follow somebody's suggestion to take a month off VC, starting yesterday. :-)

Thanks for a wonderful story so far, Saless!

Thanks

Thanks Martin!

Don't Panic!

Written in nice, large, friendly letters on a beach towel.

Oops, wrong story!

Seriously, we all know these stories (for all of our authors) are written in your spare time, as a hobby. You are not mindless automatons, compelled to churn out a chapter a day, every day, forever and a day!

Nobody is going to curse you or refuse ever to read any of your stories ever again just because you miss a day!
Hardly anyone will bear a grudge if you disappear on holiday for a few weeks and leave your laptop behind!
Not many will even grow mad if you disappeared for longer (as long as someone told us what was happening!) - Tiffany can get away with breaks of several months between chapters of "Something Feels Strange"! And nobody bats an eyelid if our resident Witty Welsh Writing Wonder Woman (hint: 756+!) skips a day or two...

Thanks Ben, I guess I tend

Thanks Ben, I guess I tend to expect a little too much from myself. So of course I inevitably let myself down, and then feel like *%#*. I still don't want to miss any updates on VC if I can help it, but I'll try to relax a bit!

You seem to have something in common with Sarah there. We just have to add some magic ... :-)

OK, actually, it would have to be lots of magic.

Aaand she did it again!

No, I'm not complaining, but... there is a small delay between Chapters 91 and 92.

I really hope you are okay, Saless!

You might sometimes have noticed ...

... an evil monster called "real life" that tends to show up at the most unexpected moment and devour all your spare time in an instant. I suppose that's what happened to Saless (and frankly I'm impressed that she doesn't encounter it more often - I sure do).

Of course, that doesn't keep me from wishing you well, Saless!

Thanks guys, and sorry for

Thanks guys, and sorry for disappearing without saying anything there. I thought I was doing well Thursday, with the chapter done early and already started on the next. I was all set to finish it up before going to bed Thursday night, since I don't get much time to write on Fridays, but I couldn't stay awake! After waking up at three a.m., I figured I'd better put it away and try again the next day. No big deal, I was ahead of the game, right?

So, of course, I ran into the same problem Friday! I tried to write 92 then, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open! I wish I could say there was a good reason for me being so tired this week, but the fact of the matter is, it's because I keep staying up late playing zOMG. It's the Gaia Online MMO, and I have become thoroughly addicted to it! Pathetic, I know.

Anyway, I got caught up on my sleep this morning (I didn't get out of bed until eleven or so). I wasn't able to get started on 92 until after dinner, but it's finally up! I'll have to make sure to get more sleep from now on, or I'll get thoroughly irritated with myself! I really hate missing chapters like that. And now I've got a terror contest story to write, too...

Oohhh, a terror contest entry?

What'll it be? Huh, huh? A side story of Kittyhawk? Or maybe the story about that alcoholic, the first witness of Mana's aarrival on Sarah's Earth? ^_^
