I'm putting together a book that has no TG interest.
It's a tale of some Celtic Siblings who escape and survive a Viking raid on the Celtic Village dated shortly after the Romans departed Britain.
So far I've written 5 chapters. I've got somewhere to go with it but I'm still groping for a finish.

If I finish it, I might try getting it published.

Alternatively if that fails,I might re-write it and give it a transgendered twist rather like Alfeidre.
Basically some children of a family of celtic boat builders in Wales, (Cymru,) are returning home from a short trading trip only to find their village in ruins and their parent's dead whilst their siblings have either been killed or taken into slavery. The story describes their escape, their wanderings around Europe by sea even venturing into the Mediterranean and Black Seas to return and resolve the fates of their remaining sisters.
Bit like a celtic version of Jason and the Argonauts.

Wish me luck.

Brendan Voyage

I have a vague memory of an expedition similar to the Kontiki one in which a group set sail (from Ireland?) in a primitive sailing boat constructed with a wooden frame covered in animal hides (goat skin?) rather like a big coracle. I think the object was to demonstrate that people from the British Isles could have journeyed to the New World long before Columbus but I'm not sure. There was certainly a book called, IIRC, 'The Brendan Voyage' that you may find a useful source. I would think a lot of the technology would be similar.
