Well, I am feeling pretty bummed over what my sister-in-law said, and its bugging me enough to want to craft some kind of response to her. I cant find the words yet, though.

Dorothy,

'just tell her that it is a load of garbage! Don't get drawn into an argument over it with her,
you won't change her thinking so it is better to be brutal with her.We Aussies have a saying,"you
can't educate idiots".There is no point in getting yourself upset, which is probably what she wants you
to do anyway. Just remember the lovely people on this site who are in your corner.I'll bet your
sister in Law would like to have as many friends as you do.Go Team Dorothy!!!

Dorothy, don't do it in anger!

You have so many who care about you, don't allow a negative person to drag you down, even if she is your sister. Some people will NEVER understand, and you cannot demand it. They just don't have the capacity. I have similar problems, and I know that most of my family will never accept me. It hurts, but that's just the way it is. I cannot force them to think.

Fear leads to anger...

anger leads to hate... hate leads to suffering...

Sorry, no idea why I had a Yoda moment, but I did.

Maybe just cut your losses?

Ya know I been doin this shit since December 2004 an it ain't got no better at all. My family, they's a bunch of fundi red necks an ain't ever gonna lock onto da truth. They follows the plastic Jesus and got no clue bout the real one. Every single time I gits involved with an exchange with my son, he just makes it all about him and his wife's irrational christobabble.

I't tell you ta just spare ur self a whole shit load o pain and make ur own life, but you gonna do it your way, jest like me. I just had another exchange with him and a friend told me that he is da delusional one, not me.

Y'all will go on and do this shit wid ur relatives until you give up. I hope you do it sooner than me.

I Would Point Out The Results Of Research

I would point out the results of Research, particularly the study done by the Netherland's Brain Institute and the study that was done as a collaboration between UCLA and Researchers in Australia. My dad believes that my being TS is related to the fact I was fed Soy formula as a baby, but I doubt it. When he explained his theory, my sister just rolled her eyes. She has been trying to explain to him for years about me. He still sends me cards that say "Son" even after my sister told him not to. I think that I was born this way and there was a good reason for it. When I told my mother, I sat down and wrote her a letter from the heart. I told her how I felt inside, I gave her examples of times as a child that I expressed myself as a girl. Of course, your sister-in-law may not have known you as a child, but you could tell her about your childhood. My mother remembered a lot of the things I did and once I jogged her memory, it came back to her.You could point out that your brother suffered through some of the same things you did, but he didn't turn out to be TS as you pointed out. I told you my example. I have two brothers and a younger sister. My parents divorced in 1985 and Mom raised us as a single mother. My two brothers went on to become a Captain and a Major in the U.S Army. There is not a trace of Gender Identity problems with them. They are both married with kids and are all "Man". It mattered not one bit that they were raised without our dad around.

Dorothy, don't let her attitude distress you. You are loved here and a valued member of the Bigcloset TopShelf Family. Please take strength from that fact when you craft your response to her.
