I have a few days off

I have some holiday over the Easter period and although I have list of chores as long as my arm I'm hoping to do some extra writing as well. I'd rather like to move Snafu on towards a conclusion, although that will require more than one episode, but I might manage the next one.

Today, instead of doing the CTC bike ride, I got bogged down in some DIY. I intended to rub down my back door and perhaps give it and the frame a coat of undercoat. Then I discovered the one corner of the frame had rotted. I had to do some surgery and then some quite inventive reconstruction, which took much of the day. I also stripped my bed and washed both the linen and the duvet and got them dry and back on the bed. The sunshine has been absolutely glorious.

Bonzi and Izz came in and out offering opinions and advice in exchange for food, like they do and my daughter phoned which took up the best part of an hour--just when I'd stopped to make a cuppa and have a hot cross bun - her timing is impeccable.

I discovered the other side of the frame is equally dodgy, but have reinforced that with some filler stuff. If it holds together a bit longer, all good and well, if not - I'll have to get it replaced.

What a load of rot!

Dry rot that is :-)
You may have to dig around a bit for it but there is some penetrating epoxy stuff, very low viscosity , called Git Rot. Try marine supply places.
