Never knew he road and after being dead so long to win.

BTW, minor note The Milwaukee Brewers MLB team won their division in the National League the other day. Last time a Milwaukee MLB team won its division Ronald Reagan was a year and a half into his first term as President... and Matlock was a brand new show.

P.S. Odd, that looks like a Campanola jersey? I rember the colored stripes from component boxes when I used to ride a lot, though never competively.

Cavendish lives near me ...
... in a very big house surrounded by a huge park designed by Capability Brown. Most people know him as the Duke of Devonshire (actually it's in Derbyshire ... don't ask :) ) Same family as the scientist.
But to be serious for a minute Aaaaghhh!!!!! Cav wins the World's with a little help from his friends. I guess this heals the little rift between him and Brad Wiggins after the debacle of the 2008 Olympic Track Madison when the rest combined against the then World Champions.
Next year's could suit Cavendish too as it's in the Netherlands - admittedly the hilly(ish) bit of the Netherlands but still relatively flat.
btw what's this about Matlock? That's just up the road from me too :)

I watched the last hour of the race. The whole team worked very hard to get Cavendish to the sprint finish. Bradley Wiggins was epic over the last few miles.
Now if we can just get Gaby on the youth team, all will be well.

You might have gone with a more ambiguous title for the post. I have the race on my DVR, but haven't gotten to watch it yet, and now I know the ending from a glance at the BCTS front page.
Not a spoiler by any means...
You may know the final result, but believe me the race in the last few k's was unbelievable.

The reference in the reports to the forty-odd years since our last champ unfortunately brought that man to mind, and his death on Ventoux.

In view of your having enjoyed yourself watching Cavendish, I shall try to cope with not having Bike tonight. Is he a hunk with a nice bottom? :)
