Bike 1500

If things continue as they normally do, then I should post episode 1500 on around Sunday. I'm pleased to see that I still get 6-700 reads per episode, not as many as some stories or some authors, but I suspect I get as many Kudos as most, and rightly or wrongly assume my cadre of readers enjoy my output.

I assume those readers want me to continue turning out tales of Cathy and her family for a bit longer, and also that Erin is prepared to have me clogging up her servers with my ponderous, prosaic and precipitous prolixity for a persistent period.

Are my assumptions correct?

Angharad.

Yeah your correct

Yeah your correct, well in my opinion that i love reading easy as falling of a bike and would like to see it continue

Don't mean to push

You into doing something you no longer wish to pursue. But do so love to read about Cathy's life.

You write

I read. The world is a happy place.. :-D

Janice

Yup.

Meanwhile, one day I'll get back into the swing of writing the episode summaries. But until that point, if anyone's catching up and in the late 1200s or beyond, and feels they can write a couple of sentences summarising what happened in the episode they've read, then the spreadsheet is open access - so feel free to plug in your summary in the appropriate spot.

I'm not asking anyone to take over, or even start at 1283 (which is where I think I got up to) - if you've read any episode since then that's missing a summary, "Every little helps"!

Alternatively, if you'd rather not directly touch the spreadsheet, scribble a summary or two down in a text editor and PM it to me to plug into the spreadsheet.

There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Yep. You're totally correct in your assumption.

Although if the daily bikisode (if there were such a word) becomes a strain I'm sure weekly installment would be just as much appreciated. I suspect you get almost as much enjoyment, out of the storytelling, as we get out of the reading. The selfish part of me would like it to go on and on but the realistic part knows that your enjoyment is the more important. If that were to go then the story would, likely, suffer and I'm sure no-one would want to see that.

Aye, hen, keep it up now will you?

I notice that Cathy has gentled in the last hundred or so episodes. Does that mean no more fighting paratroopers in the castle at midnight? Are her bow skills indeed gone? Will she come to a peace with Shakina? Will there ever be a wedding blessing in Scotland?

Perhaps she could come over to the colonies and badger our inept and soft government to begin um governing and settling disputes bloodlessly? I'm not holding my breath mindlessly mind you.

Much peace

Gwendolyn

Are my assumptions correct

Yes so please continue.Thank you.I watch the site from ten oclock until gone midnight to catch the latest episode (this is U.K time)right from episode 1 and am looking foreward to 1500.

My two penn'orth

You know my views on this one, woman! This was the story that got me hooked on the site, what seems like years ago (ooh--it is!) and I am glad that you realise how many people appreciate it. I go through periods where my muse gets hyperactive, and have posted twice a day at times, but that dies down and I settle into a more rational mode. Dear Ang has done the daily business, with a few understandable breaks, for years.

Chapeau, mam'selle!

A Day Without Bike?

A Day Without Bike?
...is just not a good day at all.
More so than the rising and setting of the sun I mark the passage of time with Bike installments.
I would be lost without it.
Thanks you for giving my life a purpose ;-)

Totally correct. :)

You are indeed correct, my

You are indeed correct, my dear Angie.

As long as you derive some pleasure and satisfaction from being an author, I will derive as much or more as your reader.

Totally

Correct, that is...

Thanks (yet again) Angharad.

You guys are somethin' else

Okay, you've convinced me - I'll see if I can get to 1600. Usually the plotline forms itself, when I have to help it, it tends not to flow as freely. When the kits get involved - ahem!

Just gave them some catmint - am I guilty of supplying drugs to juveniles? If the storyline gets really weird, you'll know why?

Bike

I have been glad everytime I come to this site and see a new Bike!
But at 1500 sections don't expect me to re-read it a 2nd time :-)

Good Story!

Julie

Thank you Angha,

ALISON

'just keep on pedaling!! 1500 is a big hill to cross,so don't stop or we will all be in withdrawal.

ALISON

More, please

The daily dose of "Bike" is much appreciated. Hope it continues, even if you have to take the occasional day or two off.

Brian

No ...

... it's total rubbish. I can't think why I read it every evening and get withdrawal symptoms when you occasionally fail in your duty to provide the heroin (sorry, heroine) of our choice ;)

Here's the truth...

EAFOAB has been my favorite story for so long that I call it my daily "Soap Opera".

I would be very sad if you chose to discontinue the story. I am very emotionally invested in Cathy, And as for Simon, sometimes I just want to thump him and sometimes I'd want to bed him.

Whatever anyone else thinks, I'd be very unhappy if you wound up "Bike"

I, along with lots of others, regard what you are doing as a seminal effort in lirature

Angharad, You are always our favorite

I just can't live without my daily EAFOAB. You keep us on pins and needles waiting for the next episode.

Please keep them coming along with your other stories.

Oh yes. Correct. As long

Oh yes. Correct. As long as you write, I will apparently be reading, or at least plan for that eventuality. I do enjoy my Bike.

You can quit

IF! you write up the next 200 episodes and post them all at once as a big finish by the end of next week. ;p)

Assumptions are dangerous...

Assumptions are dangerous... But, in this case, I think they are justified. You do seem to have a very loyal following. Though, I can't see any reason why. (Shhh. I'm pretending to be an unbiased observer.) You have a young, 20 something marry a prince (okay, maybe he's not royalty, per-say, but I didn't use a capital P.) have a pile of kids, and seem to raise them in a better than even handed way. You have the family go through trials and tribulations that would destroy most of us. You keep this going day after day, year after year, and you think this should go on? Seriously now. What ever gave you that idea?

Sorry. I can't keep that bit going any more. As I've said many times before, as long as you're having fun writing these things and can keep the story interesting I'm all for you keeping going. :-) I'll have to miss a day or two here and there, but I can go back and catch up! (Sunday's I'll miss - until Monday night - due to business travel, for example.)

Thank you for sharing the story.

Anne

Yes!

Perfectly correct!

OXOXOX

Bev.

I look forward to my daily fix of "Bike"

every day arond 6pm (in my timezone). I guess I'd survive without it but I'd sure miss a pleasant interlude at the end of the workday. Please keep the story going. There is so much more to learn about this amazing woman and her family. Beside that of course I'm amazed that an author can keep a story interesting and enjoyable (most of the time) for this long. About the only comparison I can think of is someone like Charles Schultz who kept Peanuts going for nearly 50 years (hint).

Peanuts

Angharad's picture

Might have been the title of his cartoon serial, but he made loads of money from it. So far, I'm in negative profit from Bike unless we sell it in (so far)30 volumes.
