I always

hated when one of those would leak. It's either a very simple fix, or very expensive. Good luck.

Maybe

Its an opportunity to get rid of some of the dross we accumulate! For a minute i thought the Stour had flooded with biblical volume to reach Bonzi Heights!

Take care

Best luck!

Best luck in recovering from the flooding.

I can recall at time when we returned from visiting the in-laws... To discover our basement (where the library is...) about an inch deep in water. The hot water heater had failed, and was steadily leaking water... To stop the flow, I had to turn off water where it came into the house... THEN began the bailing... I (with the help of my shop vac) eventually removed over one hundred fifty (150) gallons (not imperial gallons)... But, while this was going on - the we had to move some boxes... Only the bottom three were in the water, but... Damaged books are not fun! Books should be treated with respect, and we'd just not had time to make enough shelves to hold the last few boxes of books. :-( *sighs* Lost a few that we've not been able to replace too. :-( (All paper back). *sighs*

Best to you on the clean up!

Annette

You have my sympathy

I look after a neighbour's house when it's empty. I remember lying in the kitchen in a couple of inches of water trying to turn off the main water inlet tap (under the sink unit) which was leaking.

Not funny.

The houses were built in 1895 and the plumbing is ancient. Sigh!

For a moment...

...I thought it may have been due to recent inclement weather, but then I thought again and remembered you didn't live close to any watercourses...

Anyway, good luck with mopping up the radiator leak (and no doubt keeping a couple of curious cats at bay!), and write again as/when you get the opportunity.

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Sorry to read about the flood.

Sorry about the flood especially the fact that the water, (Probably all shitty and black,) has destroyed papers.

Carpets can be replaced, as can tiles and most floor coverings but papers and documents are another thing.

Mind you, your observations indicate that your are somewhat of a 'cereberal nature' (as though we didn't know,)in that you consider your main loss to be your papers. Though if those papers are important records and stuff, that can be heart-breaking and the loss material in terms of hours of work destroyed.

I'll shut up now, I'm rambling. Hope the damage was manageable.

Flood!

I have just read your blog about a leaking radiator.

Spookily, I went shopping with a friend today and came back with a new mop and bucket. I do have an exciting life.

I hope there is not too much damage to your floor and more importantly to your books.

Take care

Love
