...this really tasty fruited tea today.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Orange:
    • half juiced directly into the final pitcher
    • the zest of that half added to the tea in the strainer
    • the other half sliced thinly and added directly into the final pitcher
  • about 2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice added directly into the final pitcher
  • about 1/4 cup honey added directly into the final pitcher
  • 1/2 cup sucralose sugar-replacement (the Kroger Apriva brand fwiw; 1:1 measure) added directly to the final pitcher
  • 9 tsp. loose tea:
    • 5 tsp. moderate quality Earl Grey style (from a freshly-opened packet; oh! the aroma! ^__^)
    • 4 tsp. oft "Irish Breakfast" style
  • 2 2" sticks cinnamon (well, what gets sold in the US as "cinnamon", anyway...) broken up well and added to the tea in the strainer
  • about 12-15 buds whole dried cloves crushed lightly and added to the tea in the strainer
  • enough water (filtered through a Britta filter) to make up 2 quarts)

The tea (and spices) were steeped a couple of teaspoons at a time in a couple of cups of water at a time for about 5 minutes per, then the results strained and added to the final pitcher. Just a little sweet, partly from the orange itself, and good either hot or over ice. ^__^ Yum!
