Christmas Contest

Printer-friendly version

I made a Boo-Boo! The Christmas Contest last year was about Christmas Spirit. So I promptly came up with this Contest name and idea...

One Winter's Eve...

For the Christmas contest, have the story centered around either bad snowstorm (outdoors, forests, ski resort, city) or if the story occurs in a desert climate - make it really cold, and in the tropics, maybe an earthquake or tsunami or monsoon. That's half of the story.

The other half should have your TGLIB main character experience an action event such as losing a friend outdoors or they themselves are lost, running away from X situation, or were fired, or won something, etc. or any event which you can come up with that would not be expected near Christmas.

And finally ensure the story is written up to occur through at least Christmas Eve or Morning, whichever you prefer (or a bit beyond).

Official Posting of the Contest will be in middle of October and I will give 2 months for everyone to write for this one as well.

These are good ideas, Sephrena.

It would be a nice challenge to come up with a story to match these criteria.

Story specs: bad weather Christmas Eve

Can I use an attack by evil Eurotrash terrorists? It's not exactly weather but it's kind of a shitstorm. My Christmas Eve story would be set in the LA offices of the Nakatomi Corporation and is called THERMITE C-4 CHRISTMAS...

I can't seem to get a song out of my mind...

...oh the weather outside is.....what was the rest of that?

Crying is all right in its own way while it lasts. But you have to stop sooner or later,
and then you still have to decide what to do. ― C.S. Lewis
