TopShelf TG Fiction in the BigCloset!
When I visit this site, there's a T in a blue box at the bottom right hand of my screen, like a google thing but it doesn't say google; plus I get little windows asking me to complete questionnaires. Is this official or have I picked up a bug?

a task bar???
Uh... I hate to say this but it sounds like a "bug".
I have no such task bar and if it's leading you to advertisements and questionaires then it's more likely to be one of those pesky adverts things.
My anti-malware program (Emsisoft) has been blocking hundreds of them lately.

edit: had another thought ...
If you recently installed a "free" program from on-line... z "LOT" of them have additional programs which they install as well as the one you wanted. Somewhere in the fine print during the install they automatically install these other things like advertising and questionaires and so on. You have to examine every little thing and uncheck the automatically checked boxes in order not to install them. Some sites don't even allow that. If you don't take the additional stuff then they won't let you have the software program you wanted.

I use Malwarebytes, and it stops or finds stuff all the time.
