Lynn Abbey, C.J. Cherryh, Jane Fancher Website

Printer-friendly version

These three friends banded together to do a joint website to advertise and sell their works on as well as to collaborate on projects together called Closed Circle Publications. They have a freebies page to introduce you to each of their works. You just sign your name and email address on their form, click the button and then they email you the link to download a .zip containing a sample each of their works + a joint universe novel all 3 are working on together. they are in .epub, .mobi, and a few other formats.

A sample of Jane Fancher's creations and abilities can be found here on her own homepage. Great drawing talent!

C.J. Cherryh's own homepage is located here.

And Lynn Abbey of Thieve's World fame has her homepage here.

On C.J. Cherryh's Quick Menu Page, she has several mini-articles about The Craft of Writing. It's advice worth looking over.

It's nice to see some of the more mainstream authors branching out and selling their creations online! I hope to help more of our own to follow that path and see some income for their hard work!

I've followed...

I've followed C.J. Cherryh since the '70s, and Lynn Abbey since the original Theve's World.

Another Author, "Mercedes Lackey" was mentored by C.J. Cherryh on her first novel... And has gone on to support herself quite well with her writing.

Thanks for the links.
Annette

I'm pretty sure that Mercedes

I'm pretty sure that Mercedes Lackey's mentor was Marion Zimmer Bradley (at least, the main one)

[edit] I'm never really been able to get into C.J's stuff. Just something about it didn't click. The other authors I've always enjoyed.

Yes..

But, Ms. Lackey said in a story - that she met C.J. Cherryh at a con - and she reviewed her story - and put it through about 11 revisions - before it went to a publisher. (Where MORE revisions were needed, or so said Ms. Lackey.)

Yes, she did write a lot for MZB! MZB nurtured quite a number of good authors.

Ms. Cherrh's stuff - Were a mixed bag for me. Some I really enjoyed. Some I found tough reading, but worth it, and some I just couldn't get into. (I actually found her last Science Fiction series - with the alien race that was so prominent - fascinating, but not easy reading.)
