I was looking on Amazon and noticed a one star review for the transsexual and the cross. At first I thout the religious right had struck and was going to take it as a badge of honor. Instead, the reviewer said that no one from the lgbt community should read it and then accused me of being homophobic and transphobic. I am totally pissed off.
I would appreciate if a few people would come to my defense.

I've never bought anything on Amazon or Kindle so they won't allow me to comment.
I can understand your being pissed off by the reviewer accusing you of being homophobic but sadly one rarely gets a balanced, rational view from fundamentalist monotheists.
Frankly I deem the whole monotheist faith business to be nothing more than a money-making, exercise that exploits peoples fear of the unknown. One only has to look at all the temples, synagogues, churches and mosques that have cost the earth to build and maintain throughout history.
From what I've read in their assorted writings, it all seems to have been compiled by a bunch of lawyers on the make.

The book
I am actually going to read both books. Normally I do not read books that have christian views or opinions in them due to several very serious personal issues that happened in my past.
It will probably take me some time but I will post my review and comparisons here when I am finished.

I would venture a guess...
...that like many in the at-large community of transgender folks, the person writing the review may find it impossible to make a connection with your premise of the compatability of faith and the transsexual. Perhaps, like some here have said in the past, they've been hurt by an expression of faith that is more religious than Christ-like. Did you get any real feedback from them other than the accusations?
I can't imagine a religious bigot using the terms homophobic or transphobic; both 'buzzwords' used by the LGBT community. Definitely an angry person, however unreasonable. It seems like he/she didn't actually read the essay and reacted instead to the title.

That, or this person is slamming Katie's book to push sales for the book he/she recommended people read instead.

Did he edit his review to take out calling you transphobic? I see him calling you homophobic but not transphobic. Maybe he realized what a fool he looked like saying that after you comment on his review.

Yes, he did change his review. I am trying to get amazon to remove the review. It is evident that he is trying to advertise something. I don't think he read the book at all because he makes a claim and doesn't even back it up with any facts. Also, he hadn't reviewed a thing since 2005 and I always find that strange.
I was expecting to be attacked by the religious right. Looked forward to it. But the name calling and advertising another book (one that is 95 dollars new) is ridiculous.
It ruined my day. And it looks really bad as a review because of so many books that are about any lgbt issues that are all about transsexuals "turning from their evil ways and accepting the lord as their savior". My book is by far not that.
