As usual

All of the comments that I took the time to read were quite bad.

I hope that they catch the killer soon and he goes away for life.

I commented on this article.

Here it is, just in case some closed mind deletes it.

"Incredible! The article is about a human being who was brutally beaten to death, and you people turn it into a gun defense/gun control argument, with a few shots at the POTUS, just for the fun of it. Oh a few of you did try to get the commenters to make some kind of intelligent sense, but most of them just parroted the misanthropic, sexist rants their peers approve of. What possible difference does it make whether the person in this article was black, or Trans, or gay? The ISSUE here is violence, not the gender of the victim.I suppose there is some hope, since the only constant in the Universe is change. The dinosaurs couldn't change and they all died. So too will pass into history the racists, sexists, misanthropes and pseudo political pundits who comment in nonsensical rhetoric about articles like this one, left behind by a society that abhors closed minds. Oh, and for the record? Most Transsexual people are NOT gay! God made us all and God does not make mistakes, therefore we are ALL God's children, not just the closed mind anti everything people who ignore the point of articles like this one, in favor of their own pitiful agendas."

I doubt that my message will reach anyone whose mind is already irrevocably closed, but I had to make my feelings known.

Way way too many nasty coments.

I sometimes wonder why I look.

Only a handful of decent ones, and those mostly devolved in to flame sub-threads, except where the poster declined to re-reply to the flames.

((Do NOT read further if you do not want to know about them at all. ))
(( Not that I will go in to much detail ))

.

Most are just hateful, and quite few blame trans or gay on child abuse or claim it's just a choice, others equate trans and gay with pedophiles and rapists. Very few even acknowledge a human being was murdered. And more then a few dismiss it as who cares. What a sad comment on society that is.

With all the negative comments I think the worst and most disheartening is summed up by one very simple one. Quote:""no, murder is the killing of another HUMAN BEING. this weirdo doesn't qualify."" With that kind of attitude no argument or evidence will ever mean anything since anything said is automatically discarded.

A person is murdered and she gets dismissed as not even human so who cares, what could possibly be sadder.

.

I hope they catch her killer.

May she rest in peace.

I hope that some day things can change.

Nasty comments...

...There's a very good reason that they call the posters of such hateful screeds "trolls."

Ignore them. When the sun comes up and people can actually see them, they turn to stone.

This is tragic

A young person has been attacked and beaten to death and all some of the commenters can do is spout rubbish about the pros and cons of gun ownership and hate on trans people.

I hate the world, sometimes.

You just pointed out about

You just pointed out about the only things that are important, as far as I'm concerned.

Person - beaten to death (death by blunt trauma, which could also mean pushed off of a balcony), with the suspect escaping in the victim's vehicle.

That's it. Gender doesn't matter, age doesn't matter, guns don't matter. In a situation like this, even owing a gun on the victim's part probably wouldn't have made a difference. You to have it available to help, and if someone's close enough to beat you to death, it's unlikely you have one handy. So that definitely doesn't matter.

If anything, they twisted the title around to the point of making the springs break. The "Hollywood Star" was in four or less aired _web_ episodes of a _reality_ show - several years ago. That would be like me being shot and someone titling it "IT Wheelchair Repairman shot!" I repaired wheelchairs for two years - 17-18 years ago! There's not even an indication in the article that gender entered into it (or at least, transgendered).

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Ugh

I know! I sure don't read the news for giggles, but it's nice sometimes to see stories on "slow" news days where there is a positive focus rather than more information about the world being a terrible place to live.

Maybe we should just visit? ;)

Thankfully we haven't got so far as that one execrable comment-er and the definition of murder includes people; whatever their gender. So there is still hope that, if caught, Dominique's killer(s) can be brought to justice.

Ugh time to go read something in my happy place.

You nailed how it SHOULD be

But news is all about something unusual. Given the number of murders, deaths due to horrible auto accidents, brutal rapes, brutal assaults, and so on, society is becoming inured to such things. Perhaps it's the human psyche - tuning out things that are disturbing news, which requires that news stories need to ratchet up the shock value or "different" news angle to attract attention. In a sense, it's like the Roman Circuses - to continue attracting (or distracting) the masses, the games had to get continually more brutal and violent, because the masses were getting bored. Despite the years and 'progress', is our society that much different? From the way news is reported, I'd say no.

Whatever the circumstances, a human being was murdered. That's enough for me to be sad. It doesn't matter who, or how, or why. A human soul was lost, through violence that she didn't deserve to receive. Any person who doesn't mourn the loss of any soul (save a few extremely evil ones, but we don't need to mention particular examples, do we?) is himself or herself at least a little heartless, and perhaps missing part of his or her soul as well.
