The Name Is The Game

Printer-friendly version

Yes, I'm still working on writing.

Yes, right now that is focusing nigh-exclusively on the first (second?) draft of a publishable version of Oh, Cheers.

This, however, has brought me to a rather interesting issue.

As much as I like the title for here, and let's face it, after this long it'd be silly to change it, I AM considering changing the title for the final published version.

Back when I was originally writing the story, I asked the community for title suggestions. A lot of people chimed in with ideas, and a lot of them were great! But the situation has changed, so I'm asking again.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a new title?

I've already got a few that are hanging around as possibilities, with the leading idea me and Dallas have come up with being "Phoenix Soars!" It's uplifting, and lighthearted enough to fit the general gist of the story, which is important.

The story is changing a lot. I'm about 12k through the original version of the story as far as the rewrite is concerned, and I'm already at over 26k words, and the entire last third of the story is going to change completely. All in all, I'm expecting the new effort to be triple, if not quadruple the length of the original, with a much more coherent feel and more happy ending.

So, taking that into account... ideas? Suggestions? Recommendations?

Any and all are welcome.

Melanie E.
