Had a funny moment yesterday getting an oil change for my car. I was waiting in the lounge when a guy came in with a clipboard containing paperwork and a set of keys. He saw me, and continued to look around the lounge, and realizing I was the only one there he looked rather confused.

Finally, I said to him, "Is that for my car?" He looked at me, looked at his sheet and asked tentatively "T...Todd?" I smiled and nodded and he gave me the keys.

It seems clear to me that he saw me as a woman to the point he couldn't believe my male name belongs to me.

It made me smile all the way home, but I really should get on the legal name change thing ...

Yes!

You should! The poor fella is probably having bad thoughts toward your mother for naming her daughter that!

name change..

Yes you really should get your name changed. Then you can get your drivers license name changed and other documents as well. In KY they won't let you get your gender changed until you bring them a signed letter from your GRS surgeon but still the name change was a biggie for me.

Yes you should

I had a flat tire that I needed to get fixed, had to replace it grrrrr. At the counter of the shop was a person of indeterminate sex. She (she had a female only name that I am not going to use) had a man's haircut, mens glasses, multiple ear piercings and no makeup (not that I would expect much considering where she was working). She was wearing the shop uniform, but her chest was bulky, like she had bound what breasts she had. If it wasn't for her name tag, I wouldn't have been known what sex she was.

Name Change

How about 'TODDLES'!

Time to transition

When it got to where I was getting pretty uniformely called "ma'am" or "hon" when presenting as male, I figured it was time to put in my name change papers and go full time.

I'd been on hormones for almost three years at that point, and on black cohosh for years before that. . .

My electrologist was clearing my face every week at that point too and a gal in her 50s with a few hairs under her chin doesn't excite much attention.

Over 9 months post-op now! Dr. Chettawut did a beautiful job, and entirely free from complications, though I still have not found a guy I want to try it out with, not that I'm really looking.
