Curse you, muse.

Blog About:

I am beginning to think my 'muse' must be the evil twin of the Sandman. I should be sleeping (I have work in the morning) but instead I'm writing. :-(

Starting out with absolutely NO idea where 'Dead Ringer' was going, I started noodling at the keyboard, and I'm up to 17 "chapters" now - although admittedly, many are not more than a few paragraphs from one of the parallel threads that are beginning to form this narrative.

At least I know I'll have stuff to upload for the immediate future. The characters and motivations seem to be fleshing out well (imho).

Still, I have NO idea where this story is going!

I'm too tired to be panicked by this. I'll have to leave myself a post-it reminding me to freak out over this later.

For now, I'm half-awake and my muse is at the wheel. :-)

I have uploaded a very tiny Part Two. It's practically a tease. Hopefully to keep interest up.

Flying Blind? You're Not The Only One

You're in exalted company, Kat. When Tolkien was writing 'The Fellowship Of The Ring' he lost his way after the first few chapters. Hence the Tom Bombadil digression and the episode on the Barrow Downs that threatened to turn the story into 'The Hobbit 2'. His notes reveal that he had absolutely no idea who Strider was, or who he'd turn out to be.

Worked out all right, I'd say.

Ban nothing. Question everything.
