Pulling Stories

For those that are moving their stories to Amazon I have a request. Please leave a note behind saying that they were removed to post on Amazon. Otherwise it isn't ckearcwgat* has happened. The story may not be coming up due to Internet problems or other reasons. If it is known what happened then it saves time and effort checking back or checking other sites.

*Edit Should have been "clear what"

I don't know how it would be done but there needs to be a way to remove an image from a story. Some image take the front page from publicly suitable to NSFW or in my case in public. I'fe tried the ignore function but the images remain. Once upon a time I could block certain images but that was on a Windows machine and I'm using an Android tablet.

Being unemployed I sometimes take my tablet and go drink some coffee, just to get out of the house. But an image pops up from time to time that I wouldn't want somebody walking by or looking over my shoulder to see.

'Cause I Had To Tell Somebody

I just felt like I had to tell this rather than just put it behind me. This last week we buried my next to oldest brother in Arlington National Cemetery. Weather put a monkey wrench in things, no horse-drawn caisson or honor guard marching along side. He did receive a 21 gun salute and there was an honor guard graveside. It was kind of eerie, the blanket of snow covering everything. The cemetery was closed to normal traffic and the snow muted what sound there was. It was a very solemn ceremony.

The Temporary Dormancy of Hell (for me, anyway),

Hell is over with another year, finally. In the last six weeks was the birthday of my late partner. This was followed a few weeks later by the anniversary of her death. This year it was compounded by the lack of antidepressents due to the lack of money to pay for them. I've really not been a nice person to be around.

Happy Fuckin' Thanksgiving and Merry Fuckin' Christmas.

Again I Look

I'm dredging up the old stories but my memory won't cooperate. College student is moving into an apartment and meets two of his new neighbors, two girls. Various things happen and they end up a triad. Guy goes girl, which means as a would-be engineer she has to prove herself to her coworkers. Working for an engineering firm, she saves the day when new stress detectors of her own design detect that a city bridge is going to give way soon. The old design detectors weren't picking up the problem, but with the new detectors they have enough time to prevent any injuries and damage.

More ISO

Looking for more stories. Just have a snippet of a scene for each one so these are going to be tough. I'm revisiting my younger days and reading all the stories I enjoyed then.

A golden Oldie. Story is about a teen that refuses to cut his hair during the summer. Mother says okay, but you have to take care of your hair. Washed, conditioned, dried, all of that. And one more thing, when she is home, in addition to his hair being clean, it has to up off his neck, not cut, just up off his neck. So he gets a succession of up-dos, such as a french roll, a cascade of pin curls from an up do, or a Gibson Girl. Then he is spotted by a couple of senior girls, and things get interesting!

Sound familiar?

Imp Side Story

Just did an Imp marathon. Damn, Morpheus can write a great character!!!

Now to my question: I distinctly remember a story about how Imp got her alternate classroom from Everhart (sp?). Everhart thought she'd put one over on the Imp because the room was full of junk that would have to be removed, a task Security had been dragging their feet on. But there turned out to be buried treasure in amongst the junk, including a cache of old Dr. Seuss books, some very rare and valuable printings. Dr. Seuss . . . hmmm. . . Green Eggs and Ham . . . . Guess what Sam gets?

SEE NOT Gone,

After seeing the new comments about SEE, I decided to reread myself. The first two chapters were fine, but everything after that is blank. What gives?

I posted an update less then 30 min. after this that everything was back and sumerized there must have been a hiccup somewhere along the way. That was on my laptop/main computer. Now I'm on my tablet and that previous update is not there. :-(

Speaking Of Rereading Bailey

Well, while I'm incapacited I've been rereading a number of Bailey's stories, they hold up well in the rereading, if I do say so myself!

I was rereading "Images" and I discovered that Chapter 55 is missing. I checked with Bailey and discovered that not only is 55 missing, Bailey lost the backup when there was a computer crash.

Turned around again

I haven't been around much lately, major health issues. So it seems like every time I log on something has changed. It was really a mess this last time and it took a lot of backing and forthing to get things looking halfway normal. Somewhere along the line the righthand column that lists all the other author's work has dissappeared. You know, when you are reading an author's story it will have the rest of that author's work listed on the righthand column. Gone. I also seem to have acquired a perm. link to Laura's Playground that I'd like to get rid of.

The UK takes another hit

Seems at about 5 PM CDT there was a two part strike in the heart of London - the Tower Bridge and a nearby pub district. People in the pubs were attacked by knife-wielding people. On the Tower Bridge a van veered off the road and struck some pedestrians then several people jumped out if the van and attacked people with knives. Further details will surely follow, but know that we Americans stand with our English cousins in this time of terrible tragedy.

-Google+

Does anybody know how to shut off and hopefully remove Google+? After basically doing nothing for several years it has suddenly decided to pollute my screen and notifications with crap from some comments I posted on youtube. I really don't care that 10 other people have commented on the same video I commented on six months ago. It seems it won't let itself be turned off or removed. I don't want it, I don't need it and I don't ever intend to use it.

Dam Failure

I just saw a news item saying a warning was issued for a portion of Northern Calif. that a dam is close to bursting. It is calling for evacuations. At the bottom it says "THIS IS NOT A DRILL" repeated three times.

Columbia

Tomorrow, Feb. 1st, is the 14th anniversary of the destruction of the Space Shuttle Columbia over Texas in 2003. The shuttle's left wing was damaged by foam falling from the external tank fittings. The damage allowed reentry heat to enter and destroy the left wing, causing the shuttle to disintegrate. Disintegration actually started over California. Killed were:

Patreon - Too Successful?

This started out as a comment on another blog, but I didn't want that person to feel as if they had been singled out for attention. This is something that has been on my mind for awhile now.

It wasn't that long ago I only knew one person with a Patreon. At last count a few months back there were over 30. A few are set at $1.00 but most have a $5.00 minimum. A small number are higher. So I figure my monthly contributition to the people I really feel I should donate to is close to $150. A month. Ouch!

Challenger

Something about this block of days on the calendar. Saturday, Jan. 28th, is the 31st anniversary of the mid-air destruction of the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986. Extra attention was being paid to this flight as it was the inaugural flight of the Teacher In Space Program. A series of interactive lessons broadcast from the shuttle by teacher/payload specialist Christa McAuliffe meant that schools across the country were watching the take-off.

Apollo 1

Tomorrow, Jan. 27, is the 50th anniversary of the launch pad fire that killed the Apollo 1 crew, Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee. What was supposed to be a routine systems test became a funeral pyre when a flash fire fueled by the pure oxygen inside the Apollo roared through the capsule interior. Subsequent investigations revealed significant design flaws and faulty procedures. This resulted in a complete redesign of the Apollo capsule and revamped rules and regulations.

Christmas Weather

Here it is, Christmas Day, and we're going to have our typical Christmas Day weather.

At 6am the temp is 65F, the humidity is 90%, and the wind is from the southeast at 22mph gusting to 29mph.
Today's Forecast: 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, some possibly severe. There is a low risk of tornados.

Is this a great state or what?!
