weirdness

Okay so this week things have got pretty weird. Let me try to explain. Last week the bosses at work decided to move the contents of our 2 adjacent stores around - in a major reorganisation which effectively moved me from the store i've worked in for over a decade to the other premises. Well after stuff has settled at least.
Then yesterday afternoon the boss asked to see me and offered me a new job. They must have been reading my mind, it's Monday to Friday no stupid late shifts and a move from sales to stock control.
What does this mean here? Well my regular Wednesday updates will cease and transfer I expect to Sundays from as early as next week.
I've not had regular weekends free for a long time and in my head i'm already planning trips and visits that were not possible working a split week.

Then of course it's Gabycon this weekend - i'm looking forward to meeting everyone down in Dorsetshire! There will be exclusive world first readings of stuff from Angharad and from the new Gaby book!

Glad for you

Maddy,

I'm so glad that you are now working a better schedule and will have weekends off. It will be almost like being a normal working person. Congratulations!!

As for Gabycon, I'm sorry to say I can't make it. I have had to cancel my B&B due to the fact that the UK Visa service is diddling around with my visa. They are the most irritating and useless government agency I've ever had the misfortune to deal with. I was so looking forward to meeting you and everyone else. I do hope that you all have a wonderful time.

UK Agencies

To misquote Churchill, "They are the most irritating and useless government agency anyone has ever had the misfortune to deal with, apart from all the others."

Really, there's not a lot to choose between any of the sorry bunch.

So sorry to hear that Dahlia, I can only say that I hope you can make it to another get-together some time, maybe a trip report will emerge to give a feel for it, like the last one.
Mads, that saves me asking later on what it is you actually do there ;) and a positive note to go on with - hooray!

If you're reading this can you fill in your emailed directions a bit please, I "drove" it on street view and no idea if I found the right road...
