Help me find a specific story

Hi All

After months and months of reading, this is my first post to the forum.
First, I want to say a big thank you to all writers on this site. I enjoy reading the stories here very much.

Now I have read a specific story in the past. I don't actually know if the story I am looking for is on this site or elsewhere. I have tried searching for it via google, but can't find it. The story is in many parts, like a series. If I remember it correctly it has 2 or 3 books with eah serial chapters. I don't know the title of it, nor who the author is.

The story is about a teenage boy who is living with his mother. He is kind of a lonely boy at first. At school he meets a girl (more girls later on). They are talking about earning money. The girl helps out at the catering/restaurant business of her family and she offers him to ask if he is welcome to also help out and earn some money.
As he chooses to take on the offer, he somehow needs to dress like one of the girls, because there are no male servers. He looks convincing as a girl and keeps coming back working at the place, each time changing clothes. He somehow enjoys working as a waitress, also when the mother told him that he did not need to do it anymore. Later in the story he starts also working in a women's clothes shop where he also needs to change in women's clothing.
At the end of the story he is invited to a party at the home of the mother who owns the catering business. Because there are girls who only know him as a girl, he dresses like one and also wears a girl's swimsuit, because it is a pool party.

Anyone familiar whith the above story? If so I would like to know where I can find it or who is the author of the story.

Thanks,

Gosh!

That's one of my favorites. "Gee, I Wish I Had an Adolescence Just Like That," by AlotofthefolksatBC! Seriously, that sounds like a story I'd love to read, and I can't wait for someone who actually is familiar with the story to post the link. Thanks!

Terrible thing is...

I remember reading that particular story. Long time ago. Some inkling that the restaurant was Greek... And then... Nothing more :-(

A Fortuitous Adventure:

A Fortuitous Adventure:
or, how I got my first job
by Louise Anne Smithson
or
I think Tanya Allan did one similar but can't find it.

I remember the story.

Patricia Marie Allen's picture

It's set in England. The protagonist is a young adult, who's staying with cousins because his mother is traveling for work and they need to move. I think that it's near the cousins they need to move to.

As I remember, it started out as a one off for him to help as a girl and then business took off and he was needed again and again until it was as regular employee.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the name or author. But it is here on this site.

Different but Similar

The story you're looking for sounds similar to, but different from, How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Crystal Sprite. It is on Crystal's Story Site (see the link under the "Hosted by Us" tab at the top of the main page.

If it's the story I'm thinking of

The main part of the story was set in Iowa or Ohio or something like that. The kid went on to get a job as the weather girl on a small oat feeder TV station. There is a bit of a flap when the station learns that not only is their weather girl a minor, she's also not a GG. At the start of the summer he rides the bus back east and a slime bag tries to force him off the bus with him, thinking he's a girl. When he arrives at his destination he has to tell his cousins the story and that's when the idea that "she" can help out with her oldest cousin's catering business starts to form. The not quite as old cousin works for another catering business to learn the ropes. Merry mayhem follows. I'm thinking it is called 'What I Did On My Summer Vacation' or something like that.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

Hi,

Hi,
Thank you all for your fast replies.
The story I am looking for is not 'How I spent my summer vacation' from C.Sprite, nor is it the story 'A Fortuitous Adventure' from Louise Anne. I'v read both and these are great stories, and from great authors too. (still hoping that C.Sprite will finish her two other serials some time). The story I am looking for is set in a home / school situation, so there is no loss of any bagage. First the boy starts working / helping out at the back of the restaurant / in the kitchen, because the customers may not see that he is working at the site as a boy. There are only female servers. At some point there is a situation where that he does a good job, but there are too few waitresses bringing the food to the customers. Because of that he is asked by his friend, a girl, to change in a waitress uniform, so he can help out in the restaurant itself. At that moment the mother of the girl, also the owner doesn't know. Thats how it starts.

I will keep an eye open for this story / series. I will post it here when I'v found it. Once more, thanks a lor for your help so far.

Marcel.

I've read the one you're talking about

I believe it is on FM, not here; possibly on Crystal's or Nifty. No clue to the title or author. Sorry.

Found it

Hi Guys,

I'v found the story I was looking for. Its title is 'My Wunderfull Obssesion' by Donna Turner. Its on FM. Its a little bit different then I remembered it. I must have mixed up some story concepts, but this is definitively what I was looking for.

Thanks,

Marcel.
