Thank you for a very sensitively written and very well researched story.

I recently visited the local hospital for a consultation with a liver specialist. He had reviewed all my notes and asked, "Why did you decide to become a woman?" I answered, "I didn't decide, I've always known that I am female: now my body is as closely aligned with my identity as modern medicine can make it."

I think that says it all.

Medical intervention without patient consultation, except to save life, is barbaric and should be outlawed.
