A Whole New Wardrobe - Dreams of a Christmas Yet to Come

by Andrea Lena Dimaggio

I can show you my gown
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, honey, now would
You hand me the matching purse and shoes.

I can open your eyes
we can dress up like sisters
matching outfits like sisters
and our friends will be confused

A new wardrobe
Just feeling like two girls on the town
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dressing

A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm with my wife
I love my life
Now that I'm exactly dressed like you.
Now I'm in a whole new world with you

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Gorgeous brocade and velvet chokers
and ears with diamond studs.

A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath - it gets better
I'm like a movie star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment gets better
I'll chase them anywhere
There's lots to wear
Let me share my brand new gown with you

A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling place
we're face to face
Just you and me

Sung to the tune of
A Whole New World
From the movie Aladdin
Words and music by Howard Ashman and Alan Menkin

You're getting good at this...

Very nice lyrics, and although not strictly a parody, you have the same skill in fitting new lyrics around the tune, while still maintaining references to the original set.

Drea, I do love your talent

Drea, I do love your talent in creating MAGIC thru your song versions. Hugs, Jan

I really need...

someday, maybe,

I hope this comes true for you Drea, or that at least a certain someone might sing this song as a duet with you, if not the perfect realization of this vision then some of that sweet loving verbal affirmation. You do have the cutest ditties, only now you've got me thinking about tunes from Disney films (pretty strange for this aging punk rocker!), and a parody of a number from The Little Mermaid---the original sung by that nasty old cephalopod witch, that I may knock out and post at Fictionmania about a certain species of commenter:
Those Poor Unfortunate Trolls.
~~~hugs, Laika
I don't know how painful this actually is,
...but I will keep my "eyes peeled" looking for that. Certain species, yes? I can actually picture a troll-like visage somewhere in the vicinity. YGY, Thanx and much love.
P.S. First appearance anywhere, cartoon or otherwise for Mrs. D.
'Drea You're the Best
You’re the best!
You’re the Meatza Pizza.
You’re the best!
There’s none that beats ya.
You’re the thrum for a Harley Davidson bike,
You’re a Chanel scent,
A St. Laurent,
You’re Ellen “De”,
You’re not FOX,
You’re the best of Jacko,
You’re the ad for “no tobacco”,
I’m a hopeless dreck, a hunt and peck – a flop!
Honey – your words are magic, please don’t stop.
To sing this ditty. Which songster would be appropriate. Liberace? Danny LaRue?
