Standing Up to Life: Book 3
Part 18 of 23
by Tiffany Shar
The paramedic looked at the young girl in front of him as he strapped her onto the gurney. She was just barely conscious and obviously had trauma to her head. Blood was coming out from numerous lacerations… but those ultimately didn’t worry him as much. Moments later as the ambulance sped down the street he tuned out the girl’s mother who was sobbing hysterically. She was just holding the girls other hand and staying out of his way… that’s all he could really hope for.
”Pete!” He called up to the driver in front.
”What do you need Andy?”
”Make sure the hospital is prepped for possible head trauma.”
Sk8r Grrls - SURGE project, Episode 4! Okay, we're going to include the extra content as sub-chapters (check the outline on the right!) where there will be as many bits of extra content as the number of the chapter (for now) -- that is, chapter four will have four sub-chapters and chapter seven will have seven sub-chapters etc. up to the point where the plot splits, but for now I'm going to focus on getting the chapters actually out and to you all. This was the very first TG Fiction series by me. I hope folks enjoy reading it again -- or for the first time!

“This was supposed to be an easy summer job,” she reminds me. “Just collect
data and let the big folks do the analysis and all the hard work. Things have
sure changed.”
“Yeah,” I agree. “Maybe we should ask for a raise——”

We all had a restless night. I spent a lot of the time tossing and turning, wondering about the lorries and who might have been driving them. Were they friends or foes?

Bridges
Chapter 1
Bailey Summers
This is my first attempt at a story. It is a work of fiction containing some gay, lesbian and transgendered themes as well as adult language and some violence. Permission is granted to post by me, the author. All persons who are depicted here, living or dead are purely by accident.
This is intended to be a love story about two peoples whose lives bridge together and find them together.
I’d love to thank Michelle B for her invaluable assistance.

Chapter 1: Sam.
I woke up with a jolt as my nightmares came to a crescendo. My hand's what did it. The kick of the gun as I fired back killing in my nightmare it's like a phantom limb effect as it twitched with the remembered kick of my Browning 9mm. It's scary, and I stare at that hand once my brain figures out where I'm at. I can still sort of see the face of one of the Afghani Taliban members who had tried to kill me while I was traveling in a convoy with a unit of US soldiers. The wind had come up and blown away his face scarf. He was twelve, thirteen, fourteen years or so at the oldest. I killed a kid. It was a bad ambush and it was self defense …but I still killed a kid.
Our stay in New York lasted a little longer than Grandmama planned.
The U.S. Senate opened hearings on the sinking just a day after we arrived. Because of Grandmama's position, she was among the passengers asked to testify.

Shedding every color
Trying to find a pigment of truth

Doesn't feel so different

Then always staying in

“Bottom line, Rebecca is still my child and we’re very proud of her. As Tom, he served our country and as Rebecca is doing the same. My wife and I have talked it over, whatever choices she makes when her mission is over, we’ll support them one-hundred percent. It is Rebecca’s life, and we feel certain she will make the right choice for the future,” Stuart Slater said to Makoto Tanaka.
“Gabrielle has made choices and decisions her mother and I wish she hadn’t.”
“We can’t live our children’s lives for them. All we can do is give them advice.”
“That is true, Stuart.”

Daniel Henderson has managed to beat the odds and been accepted into Kingston Academy, one of the best private high schools in the country. However, when Daniel is invited to take part in a special program, he learns that there's more to the school than he had thought...
NOTE: This story is loosely -- as in VERY loosely -- based on the manga/anime "Princess Princess." After the initial concept, any similarities are mostly coincidental, unless they aren't. (Puzzle that out why don't ya.)

Tiffany’s mom sat on the edge of their bed with her husband’s arms wrapped securely around her. She just couldn’t stop crying… ‘How did we let this happen to her!?!’ she asked herself for the millionth time. ‘We should have insisted that she always be walked by a teacher between rooms… we should have made them do something to those… those… monsters sooner… we should have pulled her from the school,’ a new sob came from her.
She knew in her heart that they had done about everything they could to protect her… the problem was that there was nothing she could have done. And it scared her.
‘Thank God she’s alive,’ she thought for the thousandth time that night. ‘If that boy Kyle hadn’t found her…’ She continued to sob quietly for a long time while her husband held her and contributed his own tears. They’d almost lost her…

This story was originally written for Hatbox and posted there one year ago. Erin has been adamant that Big Closet not become a “paid” site. She and I have agreed that stories that are originally placed in Hatbox by me will later be posted as free reading. I will leave this in Hatbox, but will post it as free for a few weeks to allow non-Hatbox readers to have a free opportunity.

Choices, Chapter 1
A story about a family with two boys aged 10 and 13, in which choice is a delusion and gender, an illusion. It’s a familiar theme in the TG literature, but this time with an unfamiliar twist.
What would you do if you had a chance of living your life over again? Would you correct all those mistakes hindsight told you? Use your knowledge of the future to become rich? But what if this wasn't quite the past you remember?
The conversation between the group and Patty continued on for several more hours until eventually Alyssa was called up to her room by her mother. The five all began to retired. In the order of the most inebriated. Ash first, then Arric, Verris, Cael, Kate, and Finally Raleigh. However one thing was over looked. Ash had so quickly staggered her way up the stairs leaving behind her backpack. Raleigh being the last one at the table had remembered Ash threatening his men. 'One peek wouldn't hurt would it?'

This has got to be the craziest thing I've ever done.
I've been dressing for quite some time. I've been to parties and functions with friends dressed.
I'd been seeing a therapist for a few months. She had done a good job helping me sort things out. Am I a crossdresser? Am I transgendered?
Am I "a woman trapped in a man's body?" I could use every cliche in the book to describe the fact that I've struggled with my gender identity since I was in elementary school, maybe younger.
Cael nodded yes to Kate and downed the potion from Arric. Kate quickly incanted what sounded like a poem in High Church and the tile seemed to melt like hot, gray wax. The six climbed their way down on a wooden ladder that also appeared to be untouched by thousands of years. "Well. We have creepy entrance to a creepy dungeon underneath a church that apparently had metric tons of secrets, an elf that is allergic to the magic they used and we were led here by a note that became illegible halfway down and," Verris said pausing to adjust his robe on his shoulders. "Lets get going shall we? The person that wrote the note sounded like they needed help didn't they?"
“Well, I must say I was expecting a little more love for helping out a damsel in distress...” The bass of the guy’s voice had a way of reverberating under my skin.
I could feel my cheeks burning red again. “I’m not a damsel!” This guy clearly needed glasses. His stupid mop of dirty black hair was probably hiding a lobotomy scar.
“What!? I didn’t mean you!” He looked as outraged as I did. He pointed to Lara as he knelt down to pick up the rest of her books.
