Laura's Playground is a wonderfully warm and welcoming place with the sole purpose of being somewhere safe for transfolk to chat and know that people care. Run by Laura Amato, and the staff goes through extensive training for suicide prevention and crisis intervention. If you're in a crisis, feel like cutting, or even suicide itself, and think no one cares, try this place out. They care. | |
| On your first visit you have to create a chat name, and one of the Moderators will "interview" you to make sure you're not a predator coming into the room. You can tell who a Moderator is by the color of the pawn in front of the names:
Red for Moderators and Teen Mentors Green for Administrators They head off the trolls and chasers and predators fast -- they even argue over who gets to ban them. Don't let things get to you first, check out the place. |
