Years ago my therapist asked if I could write about how I felt, "not sure if it would be sensible or silly" I replied knowing full well that reading and writing were tasks that did not feature high on my list of learnt skills as I grew up.

A Tale of Release

by Kerry Brown

It is said that as we become our true selves we then empower or give permission to others to become their true selves. Knowing who we are on the inside and that it conflicts with who pretend to be on the outside can cause much stress and despair. We are often controlled by others or pushed into conforming to their world view so that their stress is reduced irrespective of how it impacts on us. For Kerry the time of solitary confinement is finished in a most unexpected way. Enjoy reading about my life.

Life Lived Twice

How many times have we heard some one say “If I only had my life over it would be different” but if we could force our lives to be ‘reset’ without losing any of the memories we had, how would we handle it and what changes would we select before pressing the button.

Augmented Reality or near future science

Recently I watched a TV programme about the Prophets of Science, Asimov being my favourite. Anyway in one of the articles I heard the phrase "Augmented Reality" about implanted video displays and cameras that take facial recognition to a personal level. Of course we all know that this would be great as we get older and struggle to remember where we know someone from or even what there name is.

Later in the programme they talked about the process where brainwaves can be used to control limbs, devices, or communicate with others. Here comes the weird thought for a new story.

Decision time

Well, here I sit in my finest skirt and top reading BC/TS trying to force myself to make a decision. Do I stay at home and enjoy 'Kerry Time' or go play on the stock market? Quick check of the figures, the stock figures, not mine. Not looking like much encouragement to work. Oh well, decision made and unfortunately someone out there needs my help.

Enjoy the day it can only get better.

Is it just me or is bad grammar becoming acceptable?

I was never a great speller or one that was grammatically correct in every way, but the use of "your" instead of "you're" was drilled into me at school. There seems to be more and more stories in the media and even here that get the two mixed up, another phrase being "then" when it should be "than".

Is the problem brought about by voice recognition software and the various accents where words sound the same and stories are not being grammar checked? By the way, (BTW) I just wanted to say that I love being part of this community even if being in Western Australia is a long way away.

Power to Change
Written by Kerry Brown

Mahatma Gandhi Quote
There are times when you have to obey a call which is the highest of all. The voice of conscience, even though such obedience may cost many a bitter tear, and even more a separation from friends, from family, from the state to which you may belong, from all which you have held as dear as life itself. For this obedience is the law of our being.
