A question about Dialog for one of my stories

I am Lucille and P posted a story here last night. Its up. Its about a man being forcibly feminized in the 16th century on the orders of Queen Mary Tudor. I wrote it and I think its pretty good. But, then a question came to mind. The Dialog, how they spoke. I know my story was set in England in 1550s.

Wasn't their English vastly different than our own now? I know it was, if we could go back to then and try to talk to someone in 1550 London, would they even know what we were saying?

The Transformation of Lady James

The Transformation of Lady James
By Lucille Jeanette Smith

Everyone has their paths set in life. We all must follow our preordained plan set by our divine lord. Some lives are different than others. Most people follow them and never question the reason. Most never have to. A select few live in lavish wealth while most are comfortable enough with their lives and thank the Lord for what little they have been given.

A select unfortunate few have their lives take drastic turns they never expected. They never should have had to expect having so much heeped upon them. For those unfortunate few, we do question the reason we were chosen to endure so much misery and suffering. I try to figure out what I did or how I have displeased the lord. I was faithful to his word. I can not figure it out.

I was the son of Lady Jane Gray. I was very proud of what my mother had accomplished in so short of a time. Most wouldn’t have even guessed I was her son. I was sixteen and she was nineteen. No she didn’t have me when she was three. I came from her husbands side, in fact they adopted me when I was very young. For most of my life, my mother was like a very compassionate older sister who cared for me.

The Tale of Tristin Diez second revision chpter one

The Tale of Tristin Diez

By Lucille Jeanette Smith

Edited by Catherine Linda Michel

Prologue
In the course of life, some are chosen. Chosen to suffer more than others, to endure much more because they are strong enough to take that suffering and turn it into something amazing, like social change and progress. One such person is Tristan Diez, a young man just coming into his own as a man. Everything he's done and has endured in his relatively short life has given him the strength and wisdom to do what has to be done, no matter how wrong it might seem to others or what indignities he might have to suffer. This is his story, but it's more than just a story. It's an example that we all might learn from, and maybe make things better by following his example.

what is the proper way to show a storys setting or backstory

Im having a lot of trouble with this story idea of mine and starting it and trying to make it at least somewhat plausible so the reader can attempt to put in a suspension of disbelief. Its a horrific future setting in which all the forced femme cliches can take place and be like completely normal. something like romean society reawakened.Pretty young men sold, forced to be other mens concubines or lovers, chained up no choice. Their dressed and act the part and society doesn't think twice about it.

Duchess Angelica Edward the third

Duchess Angelica Edward the third

by Lucille Jeanette Smith
Prologue

In 2019 the world was rocked by the second great depression. This one was much worse than the one in 1929 when the American president at the time said he saw one third of americans, ill-housed, ill-clad, ill-nourished. In 2021, over 50 percent of Americans were jobless and homeless. For a few years, the government of the united states and other world leaders put trillions into the world market in the form of bailouts trying to jump start the economy. All efforts ended in failure and by 2030 when the unemployment surpassed seventy five percent, they realized they had to try something new. But they didn’t know what to do. But, there were some who did have a plan. Later in 2032, the top businesses and corporations banded together, had a big meeting and came up with a plan and proposed it to their governments of the world. The plan was that the governments cede entire economic control and limited civil authority, to them and they would take the world out of the second great depression.
