OK, I'm officially jealous. It seems that others have had access to the site for a few weeks and just this morning my bookmark for the site actually brought me here. I've been looking at a 404 error that replaced the temp page that went up a while ago for at least two weeks.

I've only experienced the kind of feelings I had about not being able to login here once before. That's when I quit smoking. I didn't realize how much it meant to be a part of this community. Dallas put it right when she said, "just know you are there," is a big thing.

Thank you, Piper, for all the hard work reassembling BCTS from scratch. I notice that there appears to be much more work to do. But at least it is working. Don't kill your self, that thing called sleep is important.

So after speaking with someone from the website and receiving the suggestions, I decided to make this post. For many people they do not know how to use the internet archive. After watching a video on it yesterday, I learned how. So for those who miss the MORFS website I decided to post the last date that an update was made to the site. This way if one of your favorite stories are not accessible on any of the various sites. You now have this resource. I hope the link works right. As time goes on if I find places where these stories are currently archived I may add those addresses.

I got an Ajax error popup, and then it just returned to the normal home screen. Used both Safari and Chrome and got the same result.

I’m a contributor to the Transfiction wiki, but I have to ask... is it really a wiki about transgender fiction? Each time I look at the recent changes, virtually everything is the upload of a “superhero” type character (commonly an image) with nothing to make clear why it features on transgender fiction wiki.

For many years me and Fiona have provided an IRC server with Ellesmera.dragonaerie.de. However, since about 6 years we have seen a steady decline in people visiting. Only spam bots found it then and when. We kept the service up, even when the network split occurred and when the chat moved to discord.
Nothing much happened there for the past 3 years, so today has been the day, I have finally switched off the IRC server. Ellesmera is no more.
It has been with us for a very long time.

So, after seeing Replika mentioned in an earlier blog reply a few days ago, I decided to play with it. I think I pissed it off and she gave me the brush-off...

I have chosen an oxymoron as the title to this blog.
I mentioned my problem in a note to the story I posted today ....
I have been shut out of my gmail account and I have lost contact with everybody except people I am in touch with over discord.
Does anybody know how I can get my gmail back? A "verify that you are really you" message came up giving the only option as my back email, which now has a 2 step verification using the gmail I can't access. It is driving me nuts.

I feel like a lot of people around here expect a lot of the moderation and maintenance staff here at BCTS, but that they don't tend to get nearly enough recognition for all the hard work they do.

As such, I would like to take a moment to list them all, so we can all show each of them the love they deserve.

Sorry about last night's Zoom get-together, I messed up on the settings and tried to correct that which made things worse. So, I use the Brave browser when I only want to check for what's new on BC in a quicker fashion (there is a lot higher lag when one is logged in unfortunately) which seems to do a pretty good job of blocking tracking by websites.

Now I am getting this whole recapcha thing which I dislike since I am providing a free service to google to train their AI in image recognition. It also defeats the purpose of my desire to check quickly.

Is BC being that inundated with bots that this is really necessary?

The Cloudflare page that BCTS is being routed through has broken my @Voice Aloud Reader (text to speech) on my Samsung Android tablet again. I can route to and read the stories on BCTS using my eyes just fine, but when I select a story to be read with @Voice Aloud Reader, the text from the Cloudflare page is what gets sent to the @Voice Aloud Reader app. I've tried clearing the history in the browser I'm using (Chrome) with no change/improvement.

This blog is intended to be a heads up.

TLDR:

• Hardware Upgrades "soon" but actual date unknown
• Database Upgrades even sooner, within the next 2 days

After the recent downtime where I had to do way too much data recovery, we put in plans for new infrastructure upgrades and improvements with help from a QnEZ Customer.

OK, I'm writing a story in which an IT troubleshooter needs to locate an unknown virus and irradicate it without destroying the data.

The fictional device has a 1 gig solid state C drive and a Terabyte drive D. I'm presuming that the virus would have compromised something on the boot drive.

C drive is using 79.6 of 97.8 available
D drive is only using 4.75 of 931 available.

The site was out for more than an hour today due to movement of equipment at our ISP. They apparently unplugged us in the move, but we're back up now.

They will be doing more equipment moving this week so we may experience more outages.

Yup, cloudflare, the webservice to defend against ddos attacks can fail.
Fanfiction.net cannot display a single story right now, try and get thrown into an infinite loop of trying to get past the cloudflare loading page.

So, I do apologize for my silence as of late, but I have a good reason for that. In my previous blog I mentioned that I was working directed (mandatory) overtime and, well, I have been working fifty hour work weeks for the last three weeks straight. No word on whether or not I will be working it again this week so I cannot say whether you'll be seeing another serial part this coming Saturday or Sunday. So, I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I know I've been a bit absent as of late and I do apologize. There for a while I thought I might drown amongst the tide of chaos, but I held on for dear life and have washed back on shore. There are a lot of details I WON'T get into, but suffice it to say there was a lot of drama in my personal life. There has also been a lot of positive change and progress made, I am now living as myself full time and in about half a month I will be hitting a full year on HRT! Wow, I can hardly believe that it's been that long!
