Philomena

I went to see Philomena, starring Judy Dench and Steve Coogan, based upon the book written by Martin Sixsmith about an Irishwoman's search for her son who was taken from her when he was a toddler and adopted by some Americans in about 1956. It was very good, some funnies and lots of sadness - a chick flick.

Judy Dench was excellent as always and much to my surprise, so was Coogan as journalist/author Sixthsmith who was originally reluctant to get involved with this mad Irishwoman. For those who don't know the story, I won't spoil it other than to suggest you go and see it.

About the TV experience

Yesterday I got interviewed on Transition TV on the NotStr8 television station (now available on Roku). I will post the link as soon as I get it. After the show goes live, they edit and then post a cleaner version.

Being interviewed was quite interesting. Part of me wonders if I am playing make believe with some of the stuff that's been happening in my life. I feel I backdoored my way into the interview, but I guess I'm okay with that.

I'm not back, but... everyone needs to watch this.

In my humble opinion, a very well handled and TRUE depiction of how Transsexuals are treated by others AND by the law itself. Frightening, frustrating, and maddening... but true.

Just watched 'Burton and Taylor'.

A BBC4 film about the thespian couple who loved each other but couldn't live together. It was very well performed by Dominic West as Richard Burton and Helena Bonham-Carter as Liz Taylor. If you get a chance to watch it, do.

Well If All We're Going To Do Is Remake Stuff...

Superman. Not a story but a franchise. As predictable as a McDonalds and just as hard to swallow. Give Lex Luthor a lump of that colour kryptonite that removes his powers permanently, or make Lois Lane his sworn enemy and I might be persuaded to change my mind.

In the myriad ice ages between now and when they finally decide to do something original in Hollywood, here's an idea for a remake.

I'm still waiting for this babe to get her own show. I fell in love with her when I was 9 and you know what they say about first love.

My thoughts on Man Of Steel!

I came back from the cinema last night feeling like an utter child after seeing Man Of Steel. It was an enjoyable summer blockbuster and I liked the new direction and tone they took with the new Superman. To me, it felt like two movies in one. The first movie being an OTT sci-fi epic and the second being a story about a tortured boy trying to find relevance in this world. I preferred and enjoyed the latter more so than the headache inducing finale.

Cross-Dressers Like Lure Men to Murder Them!

So I was watching cops, as there was nothing on TV... The episode was originally aired on November, 25th, 2006... It is either entitled "Bad Girls 10" (which is Season 19 episode 9) or just entitled "Coast to Coast" with no episode number, depending where you look.

The episode at one point, has a cop pulling over a male, for suspicion of soliciting prostitution, and then questioning him.

A Little Princess

If anyone happens to be in the Northern California region, come and see our production of a new musical theater adaptation of Francis Hodgson Burnett's "A Little Princess" at the Sacramento Theatre Company (in Sacramento, CA... if that weren't obvious). It's a wonderful story about never giving up on your dreams, about imagination and curiosity and understanding other people even if you don't agree with their choices. On top of that, it's a beautiful production with gorgeous music.

If you need more details on how to get tickets or find the theater, PM me.

Man of Steel Gender Change

Well this is interesting. As you can tell I am very excited for a new Superman Movie this summer. I have been avoiding reading much about the story as when Superman Returns came out I had read every article, and seen every trailer. I was so disappointed with the film because there was so little of the film I hadn't seen yet. However, I couldn't help gravitating to this article, Seems that Jimmy Olson in the new Man of Steel movie will be Jenny Olson.

Jazz on 20/20

I watch 20/20 about Jazz ,what a brave and very beautiful young lady. She is smart beyond her years and OH so lucky to have parents who are open minded enough to allow her to live the way she should with love and support. She is on blockers at age 12 and has zero "T" so she will never get a deep voice or HAIR
We need more stories like Jaz
A link to 20/20 was posted yesterday(I don't know how to do a link)
Hugs & Kissses to all :-)

Saturday's 20/20 episode

I just saw a commercial for tomorrow night's (Saturday's) episode of 20/20. They are doing a followup story of a young transgirl named Jazz that they featured in a previous episode, if anyone wants to check it out.

Rule 63 Avengers / Dark Knight (Photoshop)

Spotted courtesy of the "Geeks are Sexy" blog, a set of rather impressive photo manipulations to illustrate what (live action) female versions of a trio of Avengers characters and a trio of Dark Knight characters could potentially look like (links to original source) - the series is dubbed "If women ruled the earth"...

Check out Carol Burnett's Star Trek TG parody

Her Captain Kirk is so Shatner-esque, with Andrea Martin as Spock. And the woman who does McCoy is laugh out loud spot-on!

OT: Movie review. The Avengers.

Well, at long last, the movie I have been waiting for since I heard it was going to BE a movie, came out for rental today. The Avengers! I have to say, in all honesty, that it not only lived up to it's hype, but surpassed even my high expectations. To see, on the screen, the heroes I grew up reading about in the "comic books" and witness the incredible effects and acting displayed by the cast, just blew me away.

2 Broke Girls

I just saw a commercial for the show 2 Broke Girls (I never heard of the show). The commercial caught my attention with the phrase "lesbian Justin Beiber." It went on with a character saying "I have a secret." The responses are "You are a woman trapped in a man's body" and "You are a little boy trapped in a little girl's body."

Here is the IMDb page of the actor with a secret. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3211555/

Any Drop Dead Diva Fans?

Just finished the season finale. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but would love to dish about the finale and what it portends for next season. Are there any other fans? I figure a day or two before it would be okay to post what happened, and give fans a chance to watch it. :)

Just finished watching a K-Drama.

Just finished watching "Boys Over Flowers".

Who else is as crazy about Korean Drama's as I am or just Asian Drama's in general?

Good, sometimes great stories with solid soundtracks easily. Very little overacting most of the time and the stories actually end! :D
