An update on me

Can I say it now? I hate Christmas shopping season, and winter? I am still stocking the pet department of the store I work in, but since the rest of my crew hates to work and is trying to leave early each day, I have to cover other areas, like Toys. Love the toys, hate stocking them. We also spent two weeks cleaning up shelves that were overstocked, only to have another group put everything right back where it had came from. So work has been rough.

I hate winter because the car I drive has no blower motor. The roommate knew about it in April, but he never fixed it. Now with the missing time from work, money is tight, so I drive to work in a car that feels like it is 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Sitting in the car with a little plug in heater, while it's in single digit temps? That also sucks. Half an hour to get the window clear enough to drive. I come home and go right to the heating vent with a blanket.

The big point to this is, all my stories are currently on hold, until I get the chance to finish one. I've been coming home at like 9 am, 10 am daily and going stright to bed. Keep in mind, I start work at 10:30 pm. Sure, the money is nice, but man one can get beat from this. Then there was the building backstock I had. All hte stuff we get that won't go out, and I had 31 pallets of it. Managed to finally work it and not toys, and got 18 pallets taken care of the other day.

But hopefully I can get going on a Through the years, Hope's Ranch and Maybe some more of Mackenzie Somerset (because two stories is just a smidge of her story) here shortly. Please bear with me as I hate Christmas shopping season.

I agree

I agree with the Christmas shopping and going into debt to make other people happy very strange way to celebrate a religious holiday

And now with the way things have gotten, Thanksgiving in America is being taken over by Christmas shopping. I really think those who work Black Friday should get Holiday pay, because the people you deal with are at their worst. Absolute monsters. And who brings small children when shopping for big deals? Who really brings 5 year olds when you are buying toys on sale?

I will admit to buying shoes last week, because my store had a great deal. Buy one pair of shoes regular price, and the other pair is only $1.00. That's a win in my book. Shoes for a dollar? I was so there. Of course that was Thursday morning and the sales had started for us, so at 6 am, when I could get that price, I stood in line for almost 30 minutes, because all of the people who had the cheap TV's were there.

Now I am fighting with the payroll department. They managed to short me on the paycheck for last week by a whole day. At least, from what I heard around the store, I am not the only one. It seems half the people got shorted.

In closing. Christmas, while I don't follow the Christian religion, is a good thing. A time of peace and joy. The current christmas is way too centered on greed.
