OK, I really loved Angela's little challenge and decided to create my own just for the heck of it. I failed at her challenge because my generation is dependent on Google. I would hope that the majority of people here at BC/TS will have no problem cranking up their brains and solving this mystery.

Here is the big question.

Floyd Council was a blues guitarist and singer who found a modicum of fame in the 1920s and 1930s among the 'Piedmont Blues' set. He was born in Chapel Hill, N. Carolina in 1911, and he died in 1976 of a heart attack and is buried in Sanford, N. Carolina. He is most famous for his association with another Piedmont Blues guitarist/singer who was born in Laurens, S. Carolina in 1900, died of a heart attack in 1974, and is buried in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

What is the famous and historical association between this duo?

Hint: It has nothing to do with any form of musical collaboration between them. Nor is it in any way connected to a piece of music that either of them wrote or performed.

No cheating !!!!!!!

I had an Uncle Pink

His real name was James Pinkney Melton but being red-haired, everyone called him Pink. :)

He had a grandson named Lloyd, so that's close. :P

I just wish I was a bit more clever.
