I'm very lucky

I am very lucky to live in a house with animals.

Like last night, I was having troubles emotionally, and laying in bed and unable to sleep when my brother and sister-in-law's cat came into my room, jumped up on my bed, and basically demanded I pet her. After a while of stroking her soft fur and hearing her purr, I could feel my blood pressure drop and my heart rate slow. When I stopped petting her, the cat sat at the end of my bed facing my door, as if guarding me from any intruders, until I fell asleep.

Like I said, I'm very lucky.

Cats are beautiful creatures.

Cats are beautiful creatures. I wouldn't have gotten through the last couple of years without mine. A lot of people say that cats are selfish, arrogant creatures but they can be just as kind and as loving as dogs when given the chance.
Although, if there was an intruder I'd rather I had a large dog protecting me than a cat, but nothing's perfect ^.^'

Pets

Anyone who has a pet is truly lucky. I have a shih-tzu/schnauzer mix who very graciously allows me to sleep in her queen sized bed, and she takes care of me much the same as your cat takes care of you. I have had - no, a correction here- several cats and dogs have HAD ME, and I consider myself fortunate they chose me. By the way, did you know cats chose who they bond with? Sounds to me as though your in-laws cat is very special cat indeed.

Don't let someone else talk you out of your dreams. How can we have dreams come true, if we have no dreams?

Yes, can't agree more

Cats indeed can be manipulative or be an absolutely loyal friend or just merely sociable. They are very human that way. My neighbor's indoor/outdoor cat with whom I had the fortune to have as a friend for two years (he was essentially killed by some bastard kicking him, and he had to be put down) chose me too, despite me not being part of its owner's family. I could tell, because he was sociable with humans But the difference was that only with me did he wait patiently on my front porch to run up to my car to welcome me when I came home, basically ignoring my partner to jump in my car to greet me first and he would come when called.

I still remember when we got to know each other. It was he who chose to lie in my lap as I sat on my porch that night we bonded. *sigh* And no, it was not cupboard love because I did not give him any kind of a food treat for like a year. I still miss him dreadfully.

Adoption?

Can you get that cat to adopt you? That would be a good deal ... you get the TLC and somebody else has to feed it and clean the litter box! :)

Between the wrinkles, the orthopedic shoes, and nine decades of gravity, it is really hard to be alluring. My icon, you ask? It is the last picture I allowed to escape the camera ... back before most BC authors were born.
