I was thinking the same thing
I really liked Sarah Lynn Morgan's Boys' School. It's emotional, no doubt, but it has a lot of good humor and left me crying happy tears in the end.
Try this one
Sara UK has multiple stories with good girls coming out ahead with the usual twists and turns.Or you could try efindumb's series as well as it has drawn me back more than once to read the stories again and again.

Well for the most part, his stories can have dark parts but for the most part light always wins.
But almost pure laughs and a crazy character Read his Imp series for Whateley Accadamy, You can not go Wrong.
