A quiet week so far, the latest Nena chapter is up though.

In other news - the next raft of Gabyness will hopefully be ready to be released at the weekend, that's Express part 3.

My weekend away in South Wales was excellent, batteries are sort of recharged, medical issues notwithstanding! visits to castles, churches, houses, mills and industrial sites seamlessly joined with excellent meals and accommodation, adventuresome roads and good company. All in all a nice break.

Given the unprecedented feedback, Trixiebell Heartswoon is almost certain to make a return sooner rather than later but please bear with me as I want to complete the current Gaby book before getting involved in more Gothic adventures!

Of course the event of Monday night can't be forgotten, several of the dead are from my city - its just an hour across the Pennines to Manchester after all. There's nothing I can say that can change anything, it was a callous and pointless attack carried out in the most cowardly way, there will be repercussions no doubt but nothing will really change, the idiots in power will um and ah but lack the back bone to actually take action that could improve matters.

Glad you had a good time

in the Welsh architecture and scenery. Hey, the sun's out too, I bet it has even peeped out up in the Sheffield Alps. I had to roll up my trouser legs a bit today.

I just had a thought (it came early this year) I wonder if Trixibell shares enough timeline and geography to encounter the Dark One - Julie Bond?

"Reach for the sun."

I think

That Jules is somewhat older, by my reckoning 29 this year to Trixie's actual 23. I guess there is the vaguest chance they might've crossed at some Goth event or gig.

Sunny across here in the Alps all day.

Hi Maddy, I have to comment on your last paragraph as a resident of Yorkshire with a sister and her husband who were injured by the bomb whilst waiting for their 17 year old daughter and her friend. They had fortunately not quite reached the exit door but they witnessed the horror. They were then separated until the next day and my sister and brother in law had nasty injuries with bolts passing through legs like bullets and metal pieces sticking out of thighs. The care and attention received from medics, police and many people involved demonstrated that our NHS and our Police Force have been well trained and prepared for such tragic and stupid acts. The hospital teams have been supported by army experts with knowledge of serious injuries to our armed forces.
Our problems in the UK are because we are too tolerant and too welcoming and we have been members of the EU who opened borders to help Eastern Europe members and never considered the consequences. Lax procedures are exploited. We allow large Mosques to be built where young Muslims are influenced by 'hate preachers' who can't accept Western freedom and don't want to integrate. You only have to listen to Corbyn to understand there are many who believe we should just stand by and turn the other cheek. How can a Government be responsible when we don't want a Police State or to be controlled or monitored? Look at the fuss in the USA when Trump tried to stop immigrants from Middle East countries who have no proper vetting or control procedures. His actions were misrepresented by the media and he labelled a racist. I suggest you might watch last Thursdays Question Time on I-player and focus on how Amber Rudd, Home Secretary, listened intently at a wide range of views, especially noting two members of the audience who spoke the truth with no political motif. One young Muslim woman and one British businessman who had visited a Manchester Mosque and been staggered at the information being distributed freely and to influence young Muslims.
We the public are the problem and the media influence our decisions by confusing us with a mixture of truth, biased opinion and yes 'fake news'. You don't see any reference to the fact this was a 'dirty bomb' in Manchester that was intended to cause death, damage and pain through infection of injuries that put extra burdens on doctors and nursing staff. Soon the media will be accusing the police of bullying and victimising the network behind the bomber and then complaining about the cost of locking them up and infringement of human rights if we try to export them. With respect we are the problem not the Government
