I've been going nuts this week. I had another chapter to River ready to post on Monday or so. Eric got it back to me on Friday. Unfortunately there was an electrical storm on Thursday night, and it blew up my computer. The repair guy says that the power supply was toast, and the components inside melted, although nothing serious was destroyed (like the hard disk).

Like a fool I took my modem and router in for him to take a look at too, with the result that I had no wifi in the house. So I was driving down to a nearby coffee shop every morning to read my email, newspaper and any stories on BC that I wanted to keep up with. I have two ipads, a regular and the big one on steroids, and two browsers on each, so I could load up multiple stories to read at home.

Today I went to the repair shop where I found the computer still was waiting for parts. How could they not stock power supplies? Anyway, I got the router and modem back, and fiddled with them to get them back operational so that I could get back in business.

components inside melted

They probably do stock power supplies, but if components inside melted, you probably need a new system board and possibly new RAM. The RAM they should also have in stock, but they might not have a system board suitable for your case and components on hand. Nevertheless, their suppler should be able to get them one in a few days. It's now a week, and they should be able to offer a plausible explanation for the wait.
