This is odd. TG Techie: Chapter 5: Target isn't on the home page, despite the fact that the chapter posted seconds later (TG Techie: Chapter 5: [XXX 1] Exploration) is. Is this a system thing from posting the two of them side by side, or did one of them get lost somewhere?

Only One

I'm pretty sure you can only have one chapter (posting) of the same series on the front page at one time. It was unusual for you to split up Ch5 the way you did. It was likely treated by the admins as separate chapters. I was a little confused by what you did at first, but determined that Target was before Exploration in the story flow after looking through the postings.

Only one chapter per story on the front page is kind of the rule here. I didn't enforce that rule in this case because I was away from home for the evening but probably one of the volunteers did. The reason for the rule is because there are limited slots on the front page and all of the authors want their chance to have their stories near the top. Usually, I leave two chapters from the same series up together until one of them has 200 reads or so. If you wrote a blog about why there were two chapter 5s, that really would not affect the rule. It's part of implementing Rule One, keep it friendly, and also Rule Three.

There's another rule about how many chapters, even of different stories, by one author that can take up space on the front page. That one is even more flexible but does still get enforced. Both rules are designed to keep peace among the different authors.

Thanks for understanding. :)

Erin

I found it easy enough

Knowing that it should have been there, I just scrolled to the bottom of the page and stepped back to it. It makes no sense to discuss the various policies and the various applications.

I'd just forget it and move on..
