I'm wondering if anyone who had worked as a solicitor or in a solicitor's office in England can help me get the facts straight for a proposed storyline in my latest novel "There is Nothing Like a Dame". I know it's only a story but I do like to get things as accurate as I can. Any assistance will be gratefully acknowledged.

Wonderful response
In less than 24 hours I've had responses from four people offering help - that is wonderful! I will write to all four, explain the storyline I propose and see what they can come up with. Thank you all very much indeed.

The outcome for anyone interested.
I was sent some wonderfully detailed responses, all of which made me realise that my proposed storyline wouldn't work in real life. I've written to all four responders thanking them for their help. This website is just great for people seeking help - so much knowledge.
I worked in a hospital Pathology lab for many years. I've read technical errors in published books, so if anyone ever needs help in that area, please write to me.
