I'm a new member to this forum so please bear with me...

I am working my way through 'Gene's Story' by Karen Lockhart in which she makes reference to a story where, I quote:

'Another one I liked was about entertainers on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean. A trio of girls needed a replacement singer, so a male cousin was talked into masquerading as a female.

I was wondering if anyone could identify that story/author for me.

Many thanks in advance

Best Guess

That was the story that comes to my mind when I read the story.

Louise Ann

Erin is correct ! The story is "Honey Bunny". Louise has just reposted it today.
If you like "Gene's Story", you'll like my sequel, "Ginny's Story"

Thanks everybody, I

Thanks everybody, I appreciate your assistance in this matter and the suggestions for my further perusal.
I shall endeavour to work my way through all the titles mentioned in the fullness of time.
It's good to have a list of recommended stories to aim for.

Fresh? Reading Material

There's a lot of gold in the older stories here, some by sadly departed authors. They are well worth the reading, and as there will never be anymore stories from them, I recommend taking the time to go back and read them. Some years back, after my ticker tried to quit tokking, I spent a some months in modified bed rest. I went back to the oldest story still posted on BC and read my way forward. Some just didn't appeal to me so I moved on to the next one. By the time I read my way up to the present, I had not only read some really, really good stories, I had gained a whole new appreciation for our little corner of the literary world. So that is something you might want to try if you ever find yourself with nothing to read.
