There has been a longer than usual delay and I'm sorry but I have a lot going on at the moment including a visit to the hospital for my annual blood check. They found a suitable vein but when they inserted the needle there was no blood so they had to use a metre and a half long needle to find some down near my left foot.
I watched it come out; they claimed it was the normal amount but I have my doubts, I think it was nearer a gallon. I have a creepy feeling that due to my age, (I'll be 81 later this month) they have decided I won't need it for much longer and as I'm an O neg and a universal donor they might just as well help themselves now before I pop my clogs
They have no right to do it and I told them that I do not anticipate going off to the hereafter until after 2040 which marks the start of the 3rd Millenium of the Roman Invasion of Britain. And that event and the intermarrying between the ancient Brits and Romans led eventually to the Industrial revolution and the invention of the steam powered beam engine which in turn led to the creation of the Internet and the end of civilisation!!
Come to think of it, I might decide to live until 3800 then I could celebrate the 1st Millenium of the invention of that beam engine. By then of course modern science and medicine will have invented a way of reversing ageing and I can wear my old poodle skirts again and do away with my wrinkles.
Anybody fancy a jive?
Thank you for all your support and the lovely emails I have received over the past year or two and enjoy Footprints 5. I have already started Volume 6.
