I went to a local pool today, and they have a "lazy river". It was really nice and kind of fun to let the current take me along, but there was always the security in knowing that if I wasnt happy with where I was going all I had to do was stand up. Gee, there might be something profound in that, dont you think?

I read the title about a pool and...

first thing I thought about the blizzard that came through last night and all the snow I had to shovel this morning. The only way anyone would get in a pool or pond here right now would be with ice skates :)

We the willing, led by the unsure. Have been doing so much with so little for so long,
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

funny thing about snow

ive seen videos of the east coast of north america both canada and us.

They have more snow than we do here in manitoba. At moment you can see grass for the most part.

Better to be on it than in it

Better to be on it than in it in this weather!

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

There are open pools in cold places!

Hereabouts there was a most famous pool, replaced with less known cathedral, where it was open water year round. Several "Olympic size" pools under open sky with swimmers when it was somewhere around -35С in the surrounding Moscow... I personally had no chance to swim in that pool, but I was in swimming class in the next closest pool... And it is a quite strange experience when you swim in the pool with like +25C water but with icicles on your nose in -20C air (it was mandatory that hair was covered with rubber "swim cap", so no experience of icicles in my hair...).
