A few months ago, a friend who has read several of my non-TG books asked me to write a screenplay for a seven-minute film.

It was quite an adventure culminating a few days ago when we shot the film.

The film was about a high school girl and her male coach. She had learned that he was considering a job opportunity. He had coached her for five years and would be leaving before her senior year. She was feeling sorry for herself and upset with him. They meet in a gym by themselves.

It was an amazing experience to see actors bring my words to life.

I hope some of the other writers here would have a similar experience. My guess is that if you were to reach out to your local film community they would be open to receiving a script for their consideration.

Good luck.

It is indeed...

It is indeed an interesting experience, likewise doing so for audio dramas too. But especially when it is over and you get to see (or hear) the final product.

That's awesome.

I have been a personal assistant and done sound in a number of local (to me) productions. I know how eager people are for a decent script.

I have a friend that has written scripts for some feature length local productions. At least one of them won some awards at film festivals.

What is the name of your film if we want to watch it?

Congratulations.

Congratulations.

Is this the same screenplay that you asked help from the members of the site in recommending screenwriting assistance websites and applications?

I'm told STFU more times in a day than most people get told in a lifetime

Yes

I did get recommendations and used a script writing software.

Forty years ago I took film class and actually got a short film I wrote shot. It was definitely exciting, even if it was just a class project. :)

If you have a local junior college, that's one place you can look for collaborators.
