I got tired of the Win 7 validate nag (This Windows is not genuine) and reinstalled my OS, I knew this would involve some pain, loosing my pigeon connection and the BCTS chat room link was a casualty (the link on the front page is broken again. If someone could help me I shore would appreciate it ( I know, it is sure, but I do have a dialect to maintain ) Part of why I did it was my lappy keyboard was going out and I added a new USB keyboard to it. I was pretty computer literate before the stroke, as my intellect heals I am regaining some of that literacy, still lots of things to relearn though.. BTW is there a way to tag someone in a blog post? I use the feature a lot in my Xeno forum, it is quite useful. I am going to use this blog post to practice putting my picture up...

Well, that didn't work, can I have help there too. You can see the picture if you click on the link. It was early days in my transition. I've lost even more weight since then. I originally stated at 285 pounds an went down to 155. Now I am at 165.

If you drop me a PM, I have

If you drop me a PM, I have licenses for Windows 7 from machines that have been recycled.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

It works just fine

It is recovering lost setup like Pigeon that is going to be the problem. Solving these issues will only help my literacy. I created a win7 install thumb drive that worked well. Bought a win7 Ultimate validation key for $5. As I solve them I learn something new. Thank you for the offer though.

Windows 7? Ah I remember it well

As it is on lifesupport with the final plug due to go in less than a year it really is time to think about alternatives.
You could submit to the MS Borg and be assimilated into the Windows 10 collective or
perhaps seek out some Linux geeks in your area and enlist their help in moving to something that does not have nagware or in the future subscriptions.
Many Linux distros can run from a USB drive so you can try them out before making the final move. You even get access to your files that are on Windows!
Linux can even be made to look like windows 7.

My life became much simpler when I told those in my Camera Club.... "You downgrade to Windows 10 and you are on your own. I don't want to know."
Several did and regretted it from Day 1. Their expensive HP or Canon A3+ Photo printers didn't work. Film Scanners didn't work. The makers of the printers and scanners decided that they would rather sell you a new printer/scanner than supply a device driver that worked with Windows 10.

Just a thought. The Drop dead date for W7 is fast approaching. Not long after than makers of applications will stop updating their software with W7 support/new features/fixes. Then you will start getting nagware about upgrading to a supported Operating System (aka windows 10) etc etc
